Liberal parliamentary secretary Cory Bernardi revealed last night he had received death threats after making the comments.
While the immigration debate usually differentiates between the religion of Islam and extreme fundamentalist interpretations, Senator Bernardi confronted the issue head-on yesterday.

“reignited tensions” my ass–the tensions already exist, it’s just that Bernardi is the only politician with the courage to tell it like it is. Now watch the usual suspects crucify a brave man. (and that it  requires bravery to speak plainly is an indictment of politicians and the media)

Read the questions and the answers, and it becomes apparent that no honest person would describe the EDL as “extreme right”.  Or racist. Or thugs. Or Nazis. Or fascists. This isn’t ” an effort to force Republicans to the negotiating table” at all. It’s an effort to bypass the elected state legislature by using union thuggery and muscle. The battle lines have seldom been so clearly drawn. If there’s ever going to be something like a taxpayer’s revolt, something like this will be the spark that lights the fuse. Just hope the Governor and fellow his Republicans have the cojones to stare down the unions and reject any attempts by Washington to interfere.
