The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.
Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997…’

CONTEXT
In recent years, social scientists have imagined ‘social natures’ – nature-cultures and natural-technical and socio-technical assemblages – where nature is not autonomous of human endeavour and human agency but the environment imbues, and is imbued by, human cultural activity…. Modernity has robbed water of its history and geography, severed people’s connections with sources of a vital element and constrained our imaginative capacities to learn and ‘think with’ water…’

Ever wonder what happened to Glen Beck’s show on Fox? Trevor Loudon has the answer:
‘..We understand why this is sensitive information for Beck and his personnel. We do not intend to put anyone in a difficult position. But this story goes far beyond Beck and what happened to his program. This is a matter of a pro-Marxist billionaire interfering with the First Amendment rights of the one major media company in the U.S. that has given conservatives a voice. In the case of Beck, he was the one major media personality to subject Soros to the scrutiny he deserves. We are talking about the public’s right to know. It was bad enough that Soros-funded groups put pressure on Beck’s advertisers and his employer, News Corporation, parent of the Fox News Channel. Now we find out that threats were made and that Beck feared for the safety of his employees…’

‘How I woke up to the untruths of Barack Obama’
‘The President’s State of the Union address was as weaselly as any politician’s could be.
…I recalled a piece I wrote in this column on January 29, 2009, just after Obama took office. It was headlined: “This is the sub-prime house that Barack Obama built”. As a rising young Chicago politician in 1995, no one campaigned more actively than Mr Obama for an amendment to the US Community Reinvestment Act, legally requiring banks to lend huge sums to millions of poor, mainly black Americans, guaranteed by the two giant mortgage associations, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
It was this Act, above all, which let the US housing bubble blow up, far beyond the point where it was obvious that hundreds of thousands of homeowners would be likely to default. Yet, in 2005, no one more actively opposed moves to halt these reckless guarantees than Senator Obama, who received more donations from Fannie Mae than any other US politician (although Senator Hillary Clinton ran him close)
…It was already obvious that, having won election as an ideal Hollywood version of what “the first black President” should look and sound like, he was in reality no more than a vacuum…’

Thoughtcrimes….we’re there already:
‘..Beware of those – and they are coming here – who seek to pass laws to criminalise the discussion of history. The irony in this case is that what’s being criminalised, to the cheers of the Left, is one of the great atrocity stories used to demonise Muslims..’
Importing social unrest:
‘..More than 600,000 Australians are on unemployment benefits, saying they can’t find work they like. Meanwhile, we’re importing an underclass – with an ethnic dimension – to do what the unemployed won’t:
THEY clean toilets, drive taxis and wait on tables – jobs “beneath” so many Australians the Government is considering importing thousands of migrant workers to fill some critically short-staffed industries.
A growing underclass is developing in Australia, once revered for its work ethic, where entire occupations are being left almost entirely to foreigners.
…..The hospitality and tourism industry is so short-staffed the Government is in discussions to import 36,000 cooks, waiters and bartenders to fill vacancies…’ Andrew Bolt
