The High Cost of Healthcare?

“The US Department of Justice has announced charges for nearly 350 suspects in a sweeping bust linked to healthcare fraud. Among them are scores of medical professionals accused of scamming federal programs and private insurers.

The DOJ went public with the nationwide takedown on Wednesday, saying it had filed charges against 345 defendants across 51 federal districts, including more than 100 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.”
The $6 billion in this is just the tip of the iceberg, there is more to find, but the underlying condition is far worse than the symptoms. It’s a another example, of many, exposing the societal and cultural rot that has taken root over the decades. Cultural corruption has set in and it affects all levels of industry and government.
We have been sold on the complexity of systems being a good thing, it clearly is not. Complexity is a sham, it’s major failing is it’s ability to hide failure until the system is in collapse. At all levels complexity has been built in and it’s being used to hide corruption. In a simpler system with clearly defined rules and boundaries, corruption is easier to spot and eradicate.
