Allen West on the Marines Incident: ‘Shut Your Mouth, War Is Hell’
“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.
“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?…’

    And THIS is why we need more military types – especially those who have seen action – in U.S. politics.

    One thing I really admire about the Israeli parliament is that most politicians have actually fought for their country – and are more grounded because of that experience.

    On that note, can anyone imagine Zero, or any of the other limp-wristed Islam-appeasing liberals in Washington for that matter actually being prepared to defend their country? I can’t.

      The glib sarcastic bastard in me would counter this comment with just two words: John McCain.

      The longer answer is there are liberals in the military just as in civilian life … It just appears there are fewer of them.

    Actually the political elite hate the military – they do everything they can to undermine it, especially the macho bits which they absolutely loath.

    See Obama is actually going to reduce the infantry and replace it with drones – he thinks

      The classic mistake of anti-military dickheads. There is no substitute for boots on the ground. All the rest is a huge help, but it still comes down to the grunts.

      They loathe the macho bits because it reminds them of what they’d sooner ignore–the fact that they lack both the integrity and the manhood necessary to do the job.

    OK so that comment was good but f you Allen West for voting for the Patriot Act and the NDAA. He did vote no on the 3rd vote for the Patriot Act only because he knew it would pass and he could vote no and it would still pass…

      Nobody is the perfect representative of everybody, and I’m damn sure there are behind-the-scenes pressures we know nothing about.
      So far, West looks a damn sight better than those running for the Repub nomination.

    I never have been in a war and I hope I never have to be in a war, so for me it is impossible to understand or criticise these soldiers. Maybe I would do the same in their situation, I don’t know. But as a human being I can’t approve what they are doing to another human being . These people are defending what they believe is right, defending their homeland. I don’t think this is the way to get them on our side to make them see the things like we see them.
