‘DARWIN’S main hospital is under strain from asylum seekers needing treatment, some with chronic anxiety, doctors say.
President of the Australian Medical Association in the Northern Territory, Dr Paul Bauert, says the Royal Darwin Hospital has three to five asylum seekers a day turning up at the emergency department.

”They are all complicated cases, because virtually of them will have some mental health issue,” Dr Bauert said.

He said some of the patients had serious psychiatric illnesses.

Others had chronic anxiety, manifested in symptoms such as abdominal pain or chest pain, which became worse after they were returned to detention centres following treatment.

”The longer they are detained, the more likely these mental health issues are going to become permanent and we end up producing permanently damaged Australian citizens,” Dr Bauert said.
This is bullshit and propaganda.  Very few of these people will ever become “Australian citizens”.
These people are not “asylum seekers”. They are illegal immigrants and they cost the Australian taxpayer enormous amounts of money. They are the products of a well-organised scam which sees them pay thousands of dollars to be smuggled into Australia and once here they can bring in their relatives.
The primitive bastards remain a drain on the taxpayer for years, getting free housing, free medical services and free legal representation. Their record of gainful employment is abysmal. In return for our unwilling generosity they’re forming violent gangs and turning some places into “no go” areas.
I’d suggest that if the bleeding-heart doc feels so strongly about it, he should travel to Somalia or Afghanistan or Iraq and set up (free) shop there. Meanwhile, his kind are helping to sow the seeds of massive problems down the track and should be treated with utter contempt. He’s not a well-meaning but naive humanitarian–he’s an effing idiot who can’t see a problem when it’s biting us on the arse.

    The doc has a fine track record when it comes to helping Aboriginal Australians, but I believe his leftist ideology has blinded him to what’s really going on as far as “refugees” are concerned.
    Either that, or he places their interests above those of Australians.

    You are quite right, the thinly-veiled motive behind stories like this is to weasel the illegals into a permanent legal status. You’ll never hear these stories with something along the lines of – if they didn’t come here, we wouldn’t have to deal with this crap.

    On the plus side a lot of these wonderful immigrats are setting up shop in labor strong holds. So in a way the lefties are pulling the pin and squatting over the grenade.

    I think most people get the truth about this though, when Howard was in charge, we had no boats and all this crap only started when kevvie started fiddling and the juliar started screwing up.
