Get yer snouts out of that trough and you might cheer up…

‘THEY are responsible for some of the government’s most important policies – but staff at the Department of Energy and Climate Change are too ashamed to admit where they work.
Staff morale is so low the government has spent almost $175,000 on consultants to lift staff’s flagging spirits…’    Andrew Bolt

    The second comment is brilliant-

“They answer the phone like this,

Hello, this is the Department of Illusions and Trickery set up to Redistribute Wealth from the Smart half to the Dumb Half in Return for a Vote. ”

Pretty much nails it,they would feel better about themselves if they chose an honest profession.

 The bloody place has a huge staff and gigantic budget, and for…what, exactly?
If I was using stolen money to promote a lie I’d feel pretty bad about myself too. But it seems that’s not enough for the bastards to go out on to the open market and find themselves real jobs.
      Unhappy leeches. How sad…..not.

      • Darin says:

I’ve said it before a hundred times that fully half of our government leeches should be laid off just for a start. But then where could these people get a job,who would hire them? They certainly aren’t qualified to do anything useful.

        • KG says:

Apparently 50% of Americans don’t pay tax. Those who work for the government merely recycle taxpayer’s own money when they pay their taxes and by then it’s only worth about 25c in the dollar. It’s unsustainable, but it’s also an insoluble problem.
Cut off welfare (and bureaucrats are largely welfare recipients) and you have civil war.

          • Darin says:

Our tax structure is a difficult nut to crack. It is so complex that not even accountants or the IRS themselves understand it all. It’s a general rule that the more complex a system is the greater the losses to inefficiency and fraud. The tax code is a prime example of this.

Even those people who don’t pay income tax are still paying tax via the layered in corporate tax and double taxation which is a built in part of everything anyone buys here. That amount is estimated between 20-22% of the sale price.

Most people don’t see or even know of these taxes. To them it’s income taxes on the middle and upper class that are paying the bills for everything even though those totals don’t add up to the whole.

I have been able to cut through the mud obscuring reason even with welfare cases receiving food stamps by simply explaining to them that 20-22% of their check goes to pay these stealth taxes too.

The regressive income tax code here is the biggest reason why I supported Herman Cain. His 9/9/9 plan was the best attempt to solve this huge problem.

            • The Gantt Guy says:

The new Ryan Plan looks pretty good for addressing this too. Two rates (10% and 25%) and massively reduced complexity.

Of course, Zero and Geithner don’t like it.

              Here’s a pretty good discussion o Allen Barton’s PJTV show…

It’s got some lovely Obamavision too … How Bush adding $4 trillion to the debt over 8 years was ‘unsustainable’ and ‘immoral’. Wonder what he would have said if he’d added 8 trillion in 3 years, or may e that would have been different?
