Throwing our soldiers to the wolves, to facilitate a surrender posing as a “peace process”:

‘The US government has condemned the conduct of several American soldiers shown apparently abusing the corpses of suspected Afghan insurgents in 2010.
….His (Panetta’s) comments came after the Los Angeles Times published pictures showing US soldiers posing with the mangled remains of suspected suicide bombers.
…”Anyone found responsible for this inhuman conduct will be held accountable in accordance with our military justice system,” the spokesman said, adding that a criminal investigation was under way…’
The soldiers merely posed with body parts. The dead perps were murdering people. Yet the soldiers are the villains here?? Why doesn’t Panetta simply offer to get down on his knees and give the Taliban blow jobs?
Update: Lt. Col. Ralph Peters has something to say about this.

It’s been patently obvious for 3 years now the administration doesn’t want to win the war in Afghanistan. The ROE are evidence enough of that, even to a lay-muppet like me. That the heroes in uniform are thrown under a bus at every opportunity (remember the faux outrage over messages written on bombs?) should ritzy be causing open rebellion about now.

The administration is readying to declare defeat, and manufacturing these “outrages” to soften the American people up for it.

Yes indeed, but of course that defeat will be spun as a “co-operative peace process” or somesuch bullshit, “bringing the Taliban into the process as partners in the Afghan government” and “encompassing a broad range of views” yadayadayada…….

And meanwhile, girls will still be doused with acid, or worse, simply for attending school, their woman-parts will still be mutilated, they will still be murdered for offending the “honor” of their families.

That whole place deserves nothing more than a couple of cans of KG’s patented Instant Sunshine. If only it could be arranged for when the chocolate messiah and SoD Panetta were visiting.

    *sigh*…if only..

Hmmm. Just read thus, and it’s an interesting contrast.

Imagine if the Chocolate Messiah and SoB Panetta had been in the driving seat 70 years ago?

It’s a planned distraction,Obama and company need a new crisis to distract the folks from any mention if his miserable record.

Of course Obama and company want the troops demoralized and thrown under the bus, they are leftists it’s natural of them. However I hate to break it to them, the vast majority support the troops and don’t see anything wrong with what happened, nor do I.It would not bother me if they played Soccer with their heads.I would also point out the Afghan troops in the same photo smiling also.

As to the Homicide bombers, their remains should be defiled. They should in fact be pickled in formaldehyde and put on permanent display for the world to see.

    Over at Tim Blair:
‘No Motoons at the LA Times back in 2006:

The editor of the Los Angeles Times does not think you need to see any of the cartoons that have triggered deadly riots across the Muslim world.

But US troops posing with the bodies of suicide bombers? Why, publishing them is the paper’s obligation:

LA Times editor Davan Maharaj said, “After careful consideration, we decided that publishing a small but representative selection of the photos would fulfill our obligation to readers to report vigorously and impartially on all aspects of the American mission in Afghanistan, including the allegation that the images reflect a breakdown in unit discipline that was endangering US troops.”

Both the Pentagon and the source of the images requested that they not be published, but the Times ignored them because they weren’t wearing any Semtex.’

  7. WAKE UP says:

There’s now nobody left in the government, the media, or the current generation, who actually understands that WAR IS HELL.

  8. mara says:

Wake Up. To be fair, I think that the only people to understand that are those who are or were on the battlefield. In wartime, armchair critics, polititians and those sniffing brandy glasses far away from the agony are those who call the shots. And make idiotic decisions. It has probably always been so.
