‘A 16-year-old has been sentenced to six months in a youth justice facility for killing a motorist during a high-speed collision in Auckland earlier this year.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was driving a stolen Subaru Forester and racing through industrial Mt Wellington early on January 7 when it smashed into a car driven by 22-year-old Shaun Fitzpatrick…’
Wabbit would be very interested in knowing what conditions are like inside this “justice facility”…

    6 lousy months, what a joke, why did they even bother, why not just let him out and point him in the direction of the welfare office.

    Oh,don’t worry for him,I’m sure it’s very comfortable,probably has all the amenities.Sports,recreation,big screen TV and of course an Xbox or three :evil:

    The depressing thing is that no matter HOW he is handled from now on, short of permanent incarceration ,(which won’t happen) this person will be a drain on society, a social threat and a waste of O2. It’s too late already. Consequences? Snort, don’t be old fashioned. We don’t “do” consequences any more.
