    Of the two names being floated by the elite establishment now we have Rice and Bob Portman,at least some people know who Rice is.In the odd chance that some Republican strategist or campaign planner should read this let me say this loud and clear I agree with Mark Levin-

    I think Levin has some good points but Romney has shown savvy in not getting dragged into the meme the Obama campaign wants. That said, I am not a fan of Rice as a running mate even though I like her.

    I am keeping fingers crossed things will be better after the Olympics. After all, Romney saved the 2000 Winter Olympics and there appear to be good ads on the horizon during the Olympics which Obama won’t be able to match. Also, most people will be watching the sports show and not politics. Remember, a week in politics is a long time and the Republican machine is gearing up for when it counts. There are promising signs (overspending by Obama…LOL he can’t even conserve his finances when it counts… and increased funding for Romney) that August is going to be very interesting. My main worry is the ‘October Surprise’ I believe the Obama Administration is planning (Marshall Law anyone?).

      All good points, Michael but I still have the uneasy feeling that what Darin calls “the elite establishment” is less than committed to overturning the damage Obama has already done and there’s no way in hell they’ll ever return to true conservatism.
      I don’t view a win for Romney as anything other than marginally better than an Obama win in November. In fact, possibly worse in the long run.
      The bitter truth is that much will be made of a “moderate” veep candidate “in order to appeal to the middle ground” when in fact Romney himself is centrist at best. The whole deal is to drag the Republican Party even further to the left.
      Tony Blair’s odious “middle way” politics, come to America.
      In fact the bastards are all statists.
