UN Treaty Could Threaten Second Amendment Rights
American Second Amendment rights and U.S. foreign policy interests could be directly threatened by the latest wording of a United Nations draft treaty seeking control over international trade in conventional weapons, Fox News has learned.
….A U.S. delegate argued against the provisions during closed-door talks Friday, but insiders close to the proceedings say UN approval of a final document by the self-imposed July 27 deadline remains likely.
….The development comes just days after Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, warned there should be “no compromise” on the issue of a U.S. citizen’s right to own a firearm.
We will not stand idly by while international organizations, whether state-based or stateless, attempt to undermine the fundamental liberties that our men and women in uniform have fought so bravely to preserve – and on which our entire American system of government is based,” LaPierre told the UN Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)…’
“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.”
Abraham Lincoln

The government which signs up to this shit will be inviting armed rebellion.

Treaty by treaty the UN is taking over our lives………and as a signatory country we are obliged by law to obey them. Most of these treaties also have a clause in them saying that once signed a country cannot opt out of them. Ban Ki Moon is a dangerous man! :gunner :gunner :gunner

Where is the politician with the balls to list these treaties and promise a referendum on whether to keep them? Where?
Until I see one do that, they’re all scum.
I don’t recall We the People ever being asked if we approved of signing up to any treaty.
“can’t opt out of them”? How many divisions does Ban Ki Moon command?

Probably the whole of Nato, and under the present C-in-C, the US Military. The Russians and Chinese would probably back him up if they felt it would help them defeat the West. Then there is the whole African/ME bloc that sit on all the Human Rights type of committe who would provide canon fodder and money also to wipe out the West. Our only hope is a strong US President and a Brit PM who’d take them out of the EU.

One day, in the not too very distant future I suspect, those who own firearms are going to have to make the choice when the disarmament police come a-calling, as come a-calling they surely will.

I can’t help but think the only proper attitude to take in this case would be MOLON LABE!!!

When they surely come a-calling… they better pack a lunch.

There was an interview on TV once, some documentary on the Somalian conflict where a captured warload was being interviewed.

He was asked about the UN civil and human rights laws that he had violated to which he replied-“UN laws are only for the white man” which sums them up nicely I think. The law abiding are the only ones who obey the laws.

KG, our American cousins are lucky they *have* a constitution which includes their inalienable right to keep and bear arms. Here in the 56th and 57th, we have no such backstop on which to rest.

  7. as to the UN- I’ve been stating for years that we in the US should take back the valuable land in NY that the UN buildings stand on—and remove ourselves from that oppressive and debauched organization…
You – our cousins- in other nations see it- especially the take over of our Second Amendment rights. when do you think the majority of those of us in the US will see it!!!

Don’t get me started on the UN LOST Treaty (Law of the Seas Treaty)!!

    From Francis Porretto’s post:
‘…This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
