Judges…the enemy within:

‘BRITISH officials and media have reacted with outrage after judges allowed terror suspect Abu Qatada, dubbed Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe, to go free on bail…’
Does anybody believe that if you or I broke the law and overstayed our welcome in Britain, it would take years, millions of dollars in legal fees and then they’d release us on bail? We’d be out on the first available flight.

50 years ago Sir Roy Welensky, Prime Minister of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, told Britain’s Commonwealth Secretary R A Butler to his face that Britain’s problems in Africa were caused by that country’s ministers willingness to buckle under threats from African nationalists and that its situation would be transformed if they showed more backbone.

That was then. This is now.

How so bloody right Sir Roy was.

  3. KG says:

    He sure was, Flashman.
I look forward to the snivelling multicultis admitting that they were wrong. (/sarc)

Saw an interview on Sky TV this morning with a Tory Party MP saying they should have just put him on a plane and send him off, and let the ECHR do its worst. Why that hasn’t happened already is beyond me.

    • KG says:

Because most bloody politicians are right behind organisations such as the ECHR, Gantt–it gives some “legitimacy” and cover for what is in any case their own agenda.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

True enough, but to my mind taking out the trash will do absolutely nothing to the Tory vote. It will enrage voters in those areas that have never and will never vote Tory and will bolster those who wonder about the party’s soft edges (and middle).

Perhaps if there were an election coming up…

        • KG says:

Perhaps. But what ails the Tories goes far deeper than immigration policy. The party is as fundamentally anti-liberty as the opposition. Sometimes I think even more so.

          • The Gantt Guy says:

More so because, like National in NZ and the Republicans in the US and the Coalition in Australia, you hold them to a different standard.

We expect leftists (Labour, Labour, Democrats and Labor) to be corrupt, vile, lying filthy scum intent on stripping away our liberties.

We expect the other team to oppose that stripping away, all too often failing to realise they are not really the other team at all, but rather one big team (like American football – ‘offence’ and ‘defence’). They are all the enemy.

            • KG says:

They surely are. They’re a “class”, regardless of supposed political differences and that class is the enemy of liberty.

Oh,well if you happen to be anywhere near, pop over and give her my most heart felt middle finger salute :popcorn
