      Yep–the offenders, of course, must be given a slap on the wrist so they will be free to continue their behaviour.
      And this is symptomatic of the culture which New Zealanders are told they should “respect”, the people who claim to be “in partnership” with the government……

        It isn’t a “culture.” What the maori had in NZ pre-whitey was a violent life led at susbsistence level. We are forced to pay for maori yearnings to head back there. This instance discloses they have never really left behind their subsistence level behaviour. (Hungry? So thieve. Horny? So rape.)

        Maori are not solely a blight on NZ but a blight on the Pacific region. Their cousins in Hawaii have displayed a will and an ability to move on, assisted by decent law enforcement, but this lot are forever mesmerised by their own primitive leanings. They really piss me off as do the screaming apologists and politicians who champion them. (Where’s that vomit icon, again?)

      I see the NZ Media is just like the American Leftist Media (a.k.a. “Lamestream Media” and “State Controlled Media”) when it comes to “People of Color” doing something evil, disgusting and cruel – they are never identified as minorities.

      However, on those rare happenings when a Pale Face kicks minority butt – he or she will ALWAYS be identified as a white guilty of a “Hate Crime” – even when the “white” in question is Hispanic and a card carrying member of the Democrat Party, as was the case in Florida with Mr. Zimmerman, who was forced to kill a black man in self defense.

      I suppose the last name of “Zimmerman” sealed his doom – it’s so white and German….

          I didn’t make that connection, but “Zimmerman” could be Jewish and would play into the anti-Semtism on the Left – especially African-American hatred of the Jews.

            Zimmermann or variation Zimmerman (anglicised version) is
            an old German word meaning Carpenter. and
            a common surname in Germany. It is
            not Jewish in origin. More common in the north
            of that country.

    More of a similar nature…the tourists were apparently unaware than only a fool would sleep in a van in this “no-go” area:
    A Dutch tourist who was attacked while he was sleeping with his wife in campervan in Northland scared off his assailants when he wrestled a baseball bat from them and struck one of them in the head.
    The Dutch couple was sleeping in their van in Matauri Bay in Northland on Wednesday night when they were awoken by two men attempting to rob them with a baseball bat about 11.30pm.

      In recent years there has been a huge song and dance about the need for compulsory students’ unions in NZ. (They were the breeding ground for mindless leftie MPs.) Now, if the (now) voluntary union had any empathy for its members and the student-body itself, they’d have supported the crime victim. There is nothing in the story to suggest the union did so. The janitor needs to be kicked down the road.

    The place is crawling with left wing academics.This was the institution that was still commemorating anti apartheid success 20 years after the event.
    I feel nothing but contempt for the these weasels still locked in their time warp afterglow.
    They would rather lose students than sack one of the protected species.

          The commanders acted like commanders act when faced with troop conduct they didn’t order, which is very likely the reaction the troops wanted, as it sends a message up the chain-of-command.

          When I was in the military we pulled stunts like this to send a message to the powers that be.

          BTW, the Diggers also showed contempt to their Islamic enemy, by saying in effect, “You people, we fear not, and to prove it, we are going to play a game of golf on your front line.” :mrgreen:
