      Yep!

BTW, did you know our elite SS troopers have an average payday of above $100,ooo a year that puts them in the top ten percent of American wage earners? And only that – they have the “Federal Credit Union” that gives out low interest car, house and boat loans! But this is just start of the federal gravy train – they get 30 days paid vacation a year! Did I mention the generous clothing allowance? Oh! And the free college tuition? No wonder the SS troopers can afford the best whores in Columbia!

Yes, I can even remember my first paycheck in the U.S. Army – $93.00 for a six month’s hell during 1966 at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina boot camp going thru infantry training, while being called a “white cracker” by my “nice” black D.I. from NYC, who just loved my Southern accent and putting me on KP every weekend.

Does it come in belt-fed too?

Seriously, that and the S&W 500 mag are the two weapons I would have to think about pulling the trigger on,as in will this hurt me as bad as the target?

      @Robert:

      What end game?

The written U.S. Constitution of 1791 is as dead in America as the unwritten Constitution going back 1,000 years is in Britain!

Both countries are ruled by an Internationalist Socialist Elite oligarchy that is only limited by what tyranny they can get away with based on their reading of the ever shifting public opinion polls – the idea being to raise the temperature of the frog in the cooking pot just enough to keep him from jumping out of the pot.

We call this “jumping out of the pot” revolution, rebellion, insurrection, or civil war that would end their various socialist regimes in the Anglospehere.

Yes, we will see the Left turn back the heat on a constitutional offense when the frog starts looking like he’s going to jump out of the pot, but like Lenin said, “Two steps forward and one step backward, comades!”

This way you’re always one degree ahead of the poor cooking Anglosphere frogs.

The awful truth is that the only hope for liberty in the former countries of the British Empire and the children of Mother England are violent and terrible civil wars where we the Little People shoot the Big People ruling classes and run their lackeys out of our parts of the world.

The American Revolution redux, on a vast global scale! Down with the Tyrant King! Down with his Ministers! Down with the Tory traitors!

Wonderful stuff! Thanks for that.
I wonder how many kids are taught about such things in their history nowadays?
      Yeah, I thought so too…..

      • Darin says:

Probably none and only a few aviation buffs know of it either. So much of our even recent history is being lost. That’s why I will stop what I am doing and listen when one of the old timers has a tale to tell.Especially the few remaining WWII vets, when they decide to open up and start telling about their experiences it is a gift.

  7. KG says:

I’m left wondering how that Clipper crew managed to find and pay for the gas?

  8. Darin says:

Not sure, they did carry a ships purse just like a cruise liner and they also carried Western Union Checks so I would imagine that’s how payment was made.

As for fuel they ran off 100 octane avgas on takeoff and switched to automotive gas once in flight. That alone takes balls since aircraft engines are in no way built to run off automotive fuel as detonation is much more problematic on the lower octane auto fuel. From what I read they hoarded avgas in their outer wing tanks and used it for take off only while using the auto fuel for cruising which also greatly limited performance.I can guarantee the flight engineer had his hands full the whole way

    • KG says:

Even the auto fuel would have been dodgy stuff, in some of the places they filled up.

      • Darin says:

It was dodgy most places in the states even, that’s what Grandpa told me one reason for the glass top gas pumps was,so you could see how much dirt and water you were paying for

  9. KG says:

I know I’ve drained half a pint of water and what looked like grey sludge from a C210’s wing tank…and that’s after topping up with avgas from a sealed 44 gallon drum the night before.

    • Darin says:

My oldest brother is a long haul trucker. He was driving in a rainstorm one night in Tennesse and decided to pull off the interstate for rest and a fuel stop.
When he made the top of the interstate off ramp he could see a line of trucks broke down on the side of the road.It didn’t click on him what was going on until he pulled through the fuel island and saw all the rain runoff running into and out of the underground tank fill caps

      • KG says:

 What a pain in the ass that would be! How come the caps were open?

        • Darin says:

Probably employee incompetence or retaliation.Either way I bet the state DEQ fined the hell out of them, all that Diesel probably floated out and ran off down the hill. Those bigger truck stops usually have 80-150,000 gallons on hand too.No to mention the repair costs for all those trucks, brother said there was probably 20 rigs over on the siding with their flashers on.

Seen the .950 before. I’m waiting to they round it up to an even inch
