“equality” means lowering standards

Two more female Marines flunk infantry officers training
The women failed the introductory Combat Endurance Test, a punishing test of physical strength and endurance, officials at Marine Corps headquarters said Tuesday. The latest class began March 28 at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., with 110 lieutenants participating. Ninety-six men passed the initial endurance test. Twelve men and two women — the only female Marines taking part — failed.’

  1. I can’t recall the figures exactly, but with women having 40% less muscle mass and 20% less lung capacity when compared to men, does actually make a difference at the coal face.

Oh no, we all must adhere to this looney tunes idea that gender is simply a “construct”

    • @Urban Redneck:

I can’t imagine even a well trained infantrywoman being able to stand the physical demands of combat where they load you up like a pack mule, march you mile after mile in all kinds of weather, dig a defensive position, fight a battle, and then bed down in the rain with the smell of dead bodies in the air.

Yes, I know that 10% of the U.S. Army is female, but they are all in the combat support units…The combat arms are a different and very brutal world where everyone plays for keeps.

  2. @KG:

As one who has been thru infantry training in the U.S. Army, I’m not surprised that women can’t pass the course…

Like I said before, even if the U.S. military deems women infantrymen by lowering the standards, there will be very few females in the combat arms and special forces, just like there are very few women in the construction trade despite the fact that in law all jobs are open to them.

Yes, you will get a few Amazons who can cut the mustard, but that’s about it.

I would suggest the U.S. military take these manly females and form 52 battalions of all women units called “The All American Amazon Battalions of Death.” This unit would be based on the fact women who live together all cycle on the alpha female commander. Thus on any week of the year you would have about 1,500 very angry, men hating women ready to fight men to the death.

  3. They’d be too busy squabbling over the mortar elevation settings to fight anybody else, Ronbo.

    • LOL!

I could tell you stories about woman soldiers…I was a platoon sergeant in charge of 40 U.S. Army M.I. women at Augsburg, Germany during the early 1970s – I should have written a book about that experience.

Like the time we went to the rifle range and this female trooper was so happy she finally hit the target that she threw her M-16 into the air.

Then there was the inspection in the barracks when they put dolls on their bunks instead of their field gear…the C.O. loved that little female touch…

  4. If they want “equality” then they should abolish the officer class.

Didn’t think so. What they ‘ve got is a vociferous womens’ rights movement which has captured policy makers and in so doing is ,as you point out ,lowering standards.
In of all places the battle field, where lives are put in danger, indeed the life of the nation is put in danger.

  5. I expected this. I also expect standards to be lowered even more so they can have a few “women” in the position.

  6. I remember reading the old Muscular Development magazine back in the 1960’s,
about the relative strength ratio of average men and women. After lengthy tests
they found that women have only two thirds upper body strength of the average man.
Leg strength suprisingly was not so disaproportionate, from memory, about 85% from that of a man. Of course you get exceptions, like that of Valerie Adams, the
shot putter who is 192 cm., and weighs 117 kg. She would be stronger than most
men. She can bench press very heavy weights. Of course few women, even trained
athletes, would posess that kind of strength.
