      I’ve told these French lads, and they’re finally beginning to understand, that I run the “Is it working?” “Says who?” and “Follow the money” tests on pretty much everything.

    I agree with you all – this Danish woman is spot-on!

    I *cringe* when I see someone from overseas being accosted by a so-called “Maori “””welcome”””. “Welcome” – yeah, right…..

    It is **SO** “in your face” – that’s what gets me.

    How the heck can someone get off an hours-long flight from wherever, be faced with that and think – “hey…gee! I REALLY feel welcome now……”

    FFS – if we in NZ *must* have a Maori part to a welcome, why don’t we just have a Maori women’s group with their singing and poi? That would *surely* be more welcoming than being accosted by a guy twirling a taiaha, prancing around and poking his tongue out.

        I mean – we don’t see the Danes or Norwegians getting kitted-out in Viking gear and dancing around at their airports, do we?

        ( Even if they did, it would still be a whole lot less aggro than a Maori “welcome”. )
