   Actually America never was a democracy – our Founding Fathers hated democracy calling it correctly, “mobocracy” – so they made the USA a republic using the blueprint of the Roman Republic where the U.S. Constitution ruled supreme – well, at least to 2009.

   Today America has become an oligarchy of Democrat and Republican Progressives (socialists) of the “Power Elite” who live in Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland and Washington, D.C.

   For students of history this is a repeat of late 18th century in America, when the London elite oligarchy of King George III and his Tory ministers drove the colonies out of the empire and into revolution.

     Agree, Ronbo. From what I’ve read, the Founders had no interest in creating a democracy. Democracy is to be found in those States which hold Caucuses. The United States is a Constitutional Republic.

     Also, I think you have your timeline a little out. Rather than 2009, I’d say it started to crumble around 1992.

         Yep, good point. The first President to use the Constitution for toilet paper. The others, from FDR to King Barry, have merely increased the amount of shite they wipe onto it.

   Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than a single generation away from extinction.” He said that to highlight that apathy is the deadliest foe of freedom and that one should diligently guard against it. Our American apathy has placed us in an untenable position. Our government no longer cares what we think and has long abandoned it’s role as our representatives. The President operates by executive fiat when he can get away with it, the Congress passes legislation with the public blind to it’s excesses, local governments tells us what we can eat and how we should raise our children, and the public schools ignore the rights of the parents and indoctrinate the youth into Marxist/socialist doctrine in order to advance the cause of the left. Our founders would be outraged and shocked to see the depths of depravity and corruption in which we find ourselves mired today.

   Is the American government a sham? Only so far as it is supposed to represent the will of the people. The new aristocracy housed in the people’s house in Washington D.C. care not for their sworn duties. Rather, they seek granular control over American lives. They seek power and they seek prestige. I have been witness to Congressional representative scoffing at the very idea that they are subservient to the highest law of our land, I have witnessed them encourage illegals to get out and vote in elections, I have seen them support those who attempt to subvert our voice in the elections, and I have witnessed them lock out representatives from the Republican Party and therefore deny their constituents a voice within their own government.

   When Americans died in Libya there was no inquiries made by the lickspittle press who sought only to provide cover for the left. To this day, the voice of the survivors of that incident have not been heard. Our allies in the Middle East wonder where is the American leadership? Why does America not stand with us as it once did? The answer to that question is simple, the left does not care for Israel. Had Barrack Obama been President when Golda Meir first asked for our assistance in the Yom Kippur War, Israel may have fallen to the Syrians. Worse, Iran is on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon and with their Mahdist philosophy, the MAD doctrine will not work.

   As international threats mount, as the American citizen is being stripped of his individual liberty, and as our allies wonder what happened to American exceptionalism and leadership, we can only arrive at one conclusion: our government no longer belongs to us. The political prisoner held in California for making a piss poor video about Mohammed and blamed for the death of an American Ambassador, can most certainly attest to that fact.

   That Ted Cruz is fast making of himself a complete and absolute nuisance. Thus far, he appears a man of character and (*gasp*) principle! One of the very, very few deserving of his seat in that exalted place.
