        Yes, many people were coming down hard on the dad because he “deserted” crazy wife and insane son.

        However, the mother carried the “Crazy Gene” and perhaps her dangerous insanity was not apparent to the husband when they first married.

        This happened to a friend of mine in the Army – his wife seemed like an intelligent and nice girl when they got married, but about ten years later when they were stationed in Germany during the early 1970s, she landed a German boyfriend and attempted to get him to murder her husband.

        Fortunately, the German got cold feet and went to the police, turned in the psycho and gave testimony at the trial, where it came out she’d been off the rails for most of her life, but her friends and family covered up for her and she was good at hiding her insanity.

        Families are like that…My sister-in-law’s mother went crazy and ended up dying in the Florida State psycho ward, but my brother wasn’t told the truth about his never present mother-in-law until after she died.

          The father still had a responsibility to the son. In fact he had 2 sons with her and the oldest is mentally fine. He basically threw away the second son. A boy who could have benefited from a strong father figure.

              His first son, the oldest confirmed their Dad’s neglect.

              While the majority of men are loving Dads and should never be denied their rights, some are real assholes.

      That article made me think of a comment I saw on SBPDL the other day: The Gunfight at the O.K Corral.

      Apparently that was a Republican (Earp/Holliday) vs Democrat (Clanton/McLaury) shoot-out.

      I shall check out the wiki (although I’ve seen it telling lies…)
