   Nothing new here.

   Progressive is just another name for socialist.

   The socialists spilt off from the communists in the late 19th century over the issue of the “Revolution” whereby a country was plunged immediately into full bore socialism after a communist government came to power (the seizure of private property, the nationalization of industry, education, medicine, etc.) as was done in Soviet Russia in less than four years.

   The “democratic” socialist or”progressive”position is the same today as it was in 1890, a gradual creation of a socialist society done in an endless series of small steps over the course of decades acting within the framework of Western democracy.

   In 1989 to 1990 communism collapsed in Eastern Europe and Soviet Russia, and while the freedom lovers of world rejoiced, the “democratic” socialists (progressives) also were pleased, because their arch rival of was gone – and now the way was clear for them to continue the march to true Communism.

   You are right as regards the substance Ron, but not about something that makes revolts possible.

   Since I’ve maintained for about 20 years (and at least had an inkling since mid 1970s) that the only reason the Progressives could claim a label that implies that they are for human progress in all aspects was because they were at or near the engines of influence. And I was not the only one to say it. But because I was aware of the Neo-Malthusian movement early on, I knew that what normal people thought of as progress, the Malthusians viewed as dangerous. And then you know as well as I that early progressives like HG Wells was firmly advocating drastic human population reductions in the 1890s. After the backlash began in the first quarter of the 20th Century, they began programmes that would encourage people to eliminate of their own volition (See Wells’ Open Conspiracy.)

   What is new here Ron is that we now have media that will allow a great many more people to look beyond the labels and see the monstrosity. These people have a moral code that is the exact opposite of live and let live. Live and let die with whatever encouragement the state they run can arrange.

   And as to the term liberal, Condell does a fine job at trying to divide it from the Progressives. He is attempting here get liberals thinking (don’t laugh too hard) beyond the Progressive label using their own label. If even partly successful, the conservative label won’t be their hobgoblin anymore, the Progressives one will, and deservedly so.

   As to PC charges of us offending them. Damn straight. Pray that unlike the GOP SKUNCs, we are so good at offense we actually win a few while there is still time.
