‘A grossly drunk mother whose two young boys had to be rescued by neighbours from their smouldering bedroom, has had charges of failing to protect them dismissed by a judge.
Judge Stephen Harrop said the woman, who had collapsed drunk in the street, was negligent and had placed herself and her children at significant risk from an overturned heater.
But he said police had failed to prove that she had not taken reasonable steps to prevent injury to the children…’

    But seriously, do you think that a nanny caring for a Judge’s children would be given this leeway if she had endangered ” socially valuable” children? Just askin …….

    Useless bloody judge.

    Judges should be **elected.** That could be done in the local body elections, easy as hell. If a judge is seen as too soft, you then have the chance to give them the arse-card next election.

      The legal system is the province of an unelected elite, not to be interfered with (and preferably not even to be commented on) by We, the Peasants.
      They know what’s good for us, you see..better than we do.

        too right …saw an TV interview with ?Kim Hill :evil: and a particular judge a while ago …left no misunderstanding ..they “the Judges” are above [and control]the law ….us “the people” are not fit to set the laws of the land ..and Parliament is irrelevant.
        another one for the list ..6 judges so far
        hmm …the French dealt with their despotic effete quite well 200 yrs ago …

            I’m often denounced as an insane wild eyed radical in this country, but only a French style revolutionary bloodbath massacre of the Leftist ruling elite classes in all Western countries will save individual rights. :twisted:

            …and if said ruling classes are successful in the their destruction of world capitalism and reduce us proles to starving beasts of prey, we may just get that opportunity for some big time paybacks – and go on to create a New World without them.

    Ronbo, as you know better than most, throughout human history, there has always been revolution. One regieme is replaced by another, then another, then another ad infinitum. So here we are in 2013 wondering what has gone wrong and how to fix it.
