This is the kind of mealy-mouthed , holier-than-thou, self-righteous prick I’d like to give a stiff belt around the ear. These are the fuckers who are succeeding in sucking the light out of modern life, all in the name of “safety” and “health” or whatever excuse they can dream up.
The kind of creep who looks for any excuse to regulate or ban any activity they disapprove of, any activity that threatens the pieties that rule their shrivelled little smug lives. The smarmy self-righteousness is sickening. And spreading.
Now I’m off to have a beer and a cigarette for breakfast. After the fourth coffee, that is.

    Entirely O/T.
    We went for a drive late yesterday and Wabbit nailed a big pig at 250m with the Winchester .243. The feeling when things “click” and you just know it’s going to be a good shot has to be one of the most satisfying things ever. :grin:

        I have never seen the point in decaf? In fact I didn’t know it was readily available.

        Is it sold beside the shop which sells cheese-less pizzas, or the one which sells low-alcohol beers? Perhaps this pious stuff is sold alongside condoms?

    I used to smoke many years ago and gave up of my own volition so I don’t have a vested interest either way on this issue. Having said that, years ago when they first started attacking smokers by banning smoking in restaurants and bars, etc. red flags began flying. To ban the use of a legal product from private properties (restaurants/bars) was a very dangerous step indeed. It is the right of the owner what he/she permits in his/her own bar or restaurant and as Milton Friedman says ‘everyone has the intellectual capacity to decide’ whether he/she chooses to go into a smoking restaurant/bar or not.
    And now they are into banning smoking outside—unbelievable.

That is certainly the eventual, stated aim and it will be achieved by the submission/compliance of a society that has forgotten or never knew that personal freedom was ever tolerated. Like Muslim prayer time, watch us all bend over and assume the position. At a Rest Home that I visit daily, I speak with old smokers on the porches who are aware of this banning proposal coming to pass soon. They call it a damm shame; I call it elder abuse. :evil:

I remember back when restaurants and bars started banning smokers, made my dad furious. I hear what you are saying, its all gone too far, the fun police are everywhere.
