My theory is that Obama knows he’s screwed, blued and tatooed when public opinion finally turns against him and his poll numbers drop into the mid 30s or lower.
And this is why I think he’s pounding the war drums, as he is well aware that George Bush’s poll numbers went up into the 90s just after 9/11, when the war against terrorism was declared by Congress.
War tends to to unite a divided American people as Woodrow Wilson and FDR discovered in their day, and elevate an unpopular president to hero status.
