Ok, he’s going to Congress for the approval, but I’m sure that Congress will rubber-stamp it.

Looks like the same outcome, whoever the delivery-boy is – Obutthead or Congress.

  2. Kathleen says:

Either Obama is playing games or he is looking for away out Syria. As a rule does what he wants to do, screw everyone else.

    • Ronbo says:

Right you are, Kathleen, Adolf Obama usually doubles down when his poker bluff is called – and he has said he will go ahead with the war against Syria regardless of what Congress decides.

I’m thinking he’s just taking a step back like he did during the Obamacare debate and is lining up his stooges in Congress to rubber stamp that which he has already decided on in order to make it all look nice and legal.

I think Obama wants world war, and he wouldn’t be the first dictator to plunge his nation into war in order to hide the economic mess he’s made and the debt he’s run up.

  3. KG says:

I think you’re right. But he was certainly stopped from making the big executive gesture he seems to need so much to make.

All the rebels have to do now is gas some more women and children before 9th Sept. the whole congressional vote becomes irrelevant, and who the fuck knows what comes next. Hello Iran.

*Very* interesting, and considering the qualities of the P.O.S. currently occupying the White House, it doesn’t entirely surprise me.

I would *love* to see the SEALS carry out an op to take over the White House and “string up” Obama.

  6. Findalis says:

His yellow streak started to itch, so he had to make excuses to back down “gracefully”. But in his case he slid upon his ass.

  7. Washington- to the new Republic-“Stay out of the affairs of Europe.”
I would say that – if he were alive today he would say-“Stay out of the affairs of the mid-East..and drill for our own oil.”

We in the US should not be the world’s police–
BRING THEM HOME-to guard our own borders–

There-I’ve stated where I stand–I can do no other!!!
    Carol-CS
remember Benghazi (the officers should have followed their oath and NOT STAND DOWN) –and 9-11- if we were to have acted on either- we should have bombed the s*** out them and then left!! WIN–not dick around–

  8. mawm says:

Like with everything else Obama wants to have someone else to blame when his plans end in their usual disaster. I’m quite sure that his lackeys are busy lobbying every Dem congressman ………………. and McCain and Boner are pushing the Repubs to support this madness.

Something has been scratching away at the back of my mind for a few days. What if Benghazi was all about supplying sarin to those fighting Assad? http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_smile.gif

  9. KG says:

It wouldn’t be necessary, Mawm, unless the plan was to blame Assad all along. Which makes sense…..
But who used the stuff shouldn’t matter a damn to the West, since there’s no “good” side in this civil war. Any intervention, on any pretext, must by definition offer aid to a bad side.
    Let’s not.

    • mawm says:

It has smelled like of a false flag op to me right from the beginning.

Why would Assad want to gas his own……especially when he seems to have the opposition on the back foot?

Our boy-wonder has been itching to get at Assad. Probably the ‘red line’ was announced with the certainty that it was going to happen…..and that all those white Western countries, that he hates, would jump to his bidding. One after another they turned away, but Cameron only after he was forced to. I can’t fathom why the froggies are still in.

Just last Thursday, Al-Qaeda-backed Syrian rebels admitted to Associated Press correspondent Dale Gavlak that they had carried out the chemical attacks after being supplied the weapons from Saudi Arabia. The information backs up comments made by Syria’s deputy foreign minister as well as multiple YouTube videos showing the US funded rebels launching chemical attacks with “Saudi factory” labeled weapons.

“From numerous interviews with doctors, Ghouta residents, rebel fighters and their families….many believe that certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the (deadly) gas attack,” – Dale Gavlak

  10. KG says:

He’s absolutely right, and the leftards are – predictably – squealing:
‘OPPOSITION LEADER Tony Abbott has came under fire after describing the conflict in Syria as “baddies versus baddies”, renewing criticism of his diplomatic credentials.
Tony Abbott, currently on track to win Australia’s September 7 elections over centre-left Labor incumbent Kevin Rudd, described the conflict in Syria as a civil war “between two pretty unsavoury sides”.
“It is not goodies versus baddies, it is baddies versus baddies and that is why it is very important that we don’t make a very difficult situation worse,” Abbott told ABC television Sunday morning…’

    • thor42 says:

Yep, he is spot-on. He’ll get a fair few votes for saying this too. Straight-up and to the point.

  11. KG says:

Since they’re claiming he’s wrong, why don’t they tell us which is the “good” side?

I think that the rest of world is getting sick to death of America being the moral arbiter in world affairs.
The message that seems to be coming over loud and clear on the blogosphere is you’re on your own buddy. We ain’t going to fight your phony wars anymore.
America seems to have learned nothing since Vietnam. Are these people so fucking dumb that they think that history is irrelevant. As for having an ally in France, they haven’t recovered since Dien Bien Phu.
Maybe a sort of madness overtakes an Empire which is in decline.

    • Ronbo says:

If America was to be an empire, the United States would have been founded as an empire with George Washington as the Emperor George I – to be shortly followed by Alexander Hamilton The Great and others, who would have sent the troops and fleet to seize all of North and South America in the early 19th century in Act One to conquer the world.

However, the Founding Fathers rightly chose the republican form of government and a weak central federal government that had to make do with one small federal tax on imports.

Then in the early 20th century there appeared the Progressives (socialists) under the leadership of Teddy Roosevelt and their pipe dream of a world wide American Empire (the white man’s burden) where directly or indirectly America would control the nations of the world and teach the “natives” our advanced (and corrupt) democracy (grin)…

Thus today the flower of the American military machine is deployed in scores of countries all over the planet and our ambassadors/military leaders often act like ancient Roman Proconsuls enforcing the “Will of the Senate and People of Rome.”

Once again yet another country has fallen for the ancient crime of arrogance and built yet another Tower of Babel doomed to fall.

The pages of history are filled with stories of ruined empires and America’s attempt at imperial glory will have a chapter….

  13. Darin says:

“I think that the rest of world is getting sick to death of America being the moral arbiter in world affairs.”

As an American I am sick of the rest of the world expecting us to.We were drawn into WWI by our”allies”,later Hitler was the product of our “Allies”stupid policy of forcing reparations and our attempts at staving off WWII monetarily destroyed our economy. So again we were sucked into another European war,not of our making.

“The message that seems to be coming over loud and clear on the blogosphere is you’re on your own buddy. We ain’t going to fight your phony wars anymore.”

Good,we aren’t going to fight anymore based on phoney Anglo/French intel either.

“America seems to have learned nothing since Vietnam. Are these people so fucking dumb that they think that history is irrelevant. As for having an ally in France, they haven’t recovered since Dien Bien Phu.”

Oh we have learned plenty,we would not have been involved in Vietnam if not for our “allies”the French. We should have sided with the Vietnamese and helped them drive the French out.

“Maybe a sort of madness overtakes an Empire which is in decline.”

We never were and still aren’t an Empire. No,much of what you are complaining about is our attempt to clean up the mess made by two other empires, those of the French and the British. It’s a fine mess they left the world, particularly the Middle East.

If America pulls back from the world the world will go to hell in short order.Do you seriously think the Chinese won’t begin stomping around the Pacific rim?Do you really believe The Russians and the Muslims won’t go on a real estate binge?.Who among you would fight them and have a chance at winning.Ignore history indeed-

  14. KG says:

For all this, let’s not forget all the good America has done in the world and the kindness, decency and generosity of the vast majority of her people.
I, for one, won’t forget the debt we owe her.

    • Darin says:

KG,I for one consider Australia at the top of a very short list of true friends we have in this world.

  15. KG says:

    Damn right.

Kaiser obama – the withered brained non-entity Chicago hack with World War III on his bucket list.

Meanwhile, China Man makes lots and lots and lots of money off the purblind militaristic Americans so that the largest communist country on earth will become the one and true 21st Century Colossus.

  17. rivoniaboy says:

“That Congress allows itself to be treated as window dressing by the imperial president is just astonishing… We are rapidly headed for the same collapse as the Roman Empire if we continue down the president’s war path”. Ron Paul.

This statement after I compared the USA as an Empire in decline.
    I rest my case.
