‘NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell proposes laws to let police search for guns without warrant..’
Liberties aren’t taken from us overnight, which would alert people to what’s actually happening. Instead, they’re eroded little by little until one day the population will wake up and discover that we’re at the end of the “road to serfdom”. O’Farrell’s proposed law reduces us all to the level of the lawbreakers, which means we are effectively ruled by the lowest common denominator.

    Mr O’Farrell also plans to increase the prison term for anyone convicted of possessing or supplying guns to try to crack down on crime in Sydney. The jail term will increase from 10 to 14 years.

    By Australian standards, a 10-year bid is a very very very long sentence.

    The Cops will be searching honest,law abiding citizens homes,simply because knocking on the door of the wrong biker den can be hazardous to ones health :twisted:

    Police in New South Wales have had the power to search a motor vehicle in a public place without a warrant for about 113 years, so that part of the proposed legislation is nothing new. The rest means nothing if the courts aren’t prepared to impose meaningful sentences on murderers, drug dealers and extortionists. Otherwise, this type of thing is just a whole lot of chest-beating by the state government.

    It never ceases to amaze me how much gun crime and how many new laws are needed for us to crack down on gun crime. And we thought banning guns like liberals are caterwauling over in America was all we needed.

    The reality is that just like those so-called gun-nuts in America keep saying – banning guns only ensures the criminals are well armed while you’re not.
