    Someone on national media finally used the phrase “Soviet Style” for how DC is operating. Thus, hopefully, making it possible for other pundits to dare use it too.

    Earlier in the monologue he lays out how tyrannical Obamacare’s implementation has been, and thus fitting of the appellation.

    Well, September 17 1862, the Battle of Sharpsburg [Yankees call it Antietam] the highest single day casualties ever, America’s Bloodiest Day. Around 17,000 yanks and Rebels wounded or dead. The battlefield is very very amazing and somber even now 150 years later. Virtually the entire field may be seen from the National Park Service center. One of the hardest and solemn battlefields I have ever visited.

          By the way…the poxy safety on the Winchester M70 is jammed in the “fire” position. Any ideas? Not that I care much about using a safety, but I’m lending it to somebody for our pig hunt tomorrow, and since it has a hair trigger………..

    On his 9/19/13 show, at 10:50 into the podcast, Mark Levin laid the grounds for interviewing exonerated former GOP Congressional Whip Tom DeLay. He referred to DeLay’s persecution as a “Soviet-Style” prosecution.

    As I said above, Levin is setting the new standard for the way to speak of the Left and their behavior. The adjective “Soviet-style” may soon become part of our language.

    Long overdue.

        I listened to the whole interview. It didn’t end until 33:30 into the podcast.

        It was good that DeLay was finally acquitted, but you can hear the wear it has had on the man. He sounds like a man who has suffered a stroke. The bastards got him one way or another.

        I looked up the report of this crime on the Daily Mail website. A lot of comments have been added but there was not a lot of sympathy for the Blairs. However, this comment was jaw-dropping:

        ” … Security needs to be stepped up for Tony and his family. Scotland Yard should provide 24hr armed guards who have permission to shoot on sight. As a mark of respect to one of the countrys greatest living politicians taxpayers should be paying for this service. … ”

        As a kid I grew up watching Wile E. Coyote using Acme brand explosives to (always unsuccessfully) destroy the Road Runner, and I couldn’t count the number of times I saw Elmer Fudd blast Daffy Duck with a double barrel shotgun. Then, how many times did one cartoon character belt another over the head with a sledgehammer, or drop a fridge on, or contrive to have a grand piano fall on, an adversary? Even as a kid, I knew this was only make-believe, and not something that actually happened in the real world. It was hilariously funny stuff that happened on TV, and nowhere else, but these days there are watered down, insipid versions of the old cartoons I grew up with. These days I have grandchildren, plus my middle-aged brother started late and has a young child of his own, so I see the updated versions of the cartoon characters from my childhood from time to time. In the modern day Disney cartoons, Donald Duck never throws a tantrum, Mickey Mouse carries on like a goody-two shoes poof, (although I always got that kind of goody two shoes vibe from him, even as a ten year old), and the big bully character, (I never knew his name), is Donald Duck’s mate, and wants to DO THINGS for people. I assume this is all because some interfering, maladjusted, nanny-state imposing, fuck-knuckle somewhere got it in his or her vacuous head that all those hilarious things that kids laughed at on TV in the 50’s and 60’s were a bad influence, so we now have to have politically correct, totally non-controversial, hand-holding, Kumbaya-singing pap for our kids, in case they get any weird ideas about how life works. As for my brother, he shows his 8 year old son VHS tapes with old style cartoons full of characters belting the snot out of each other with blunt instruments, blowing each other up with big red sticks of dynamite, and so on.

        I personally, being a cynic, think there’s a lot of ‘give up and let the authorities handle it’ in that programming.

        All the media stuff I switched off to years ago, but workplace cotton-wool wrapping I cant ignore.

        Same with schools- no bullrush, and the (fairly recent) Dont Fight Back doctrine. To me it all seems like TPTB dont want people taking responsibility, and dumbing-down and sissying-down to an easily controlled level.

        Example: at one jobs “Fire Safety” I said “If you can put it out, do so. We all note where the extinguishers are”…
