A sad, sad day.

It is with great sorrow that I have to tell you Medusa passed away on Thursday 26 September.

She was an amazing individual, one of a kind.
Those of us who knew her well knew she had a mind like a razor and a tongue to match.

I was blessed to have been married to her for all too short a time.  She will be sorely missed.

We won’t soon forget a certain dinner in Wellington, the kindness and generosity of both Medusa and Michael.
A wonderfully warm, funny, tell-it-like-it-is lady has left us, and world is poorer for her loss.

We can’t begin to imagine Michael’s pain and there’s nothing to be said that will ease it. If there was, we would.

Thanks to all for the kind thoughts.

What I will carry away from the last weeks is how hard Medusa fought and fought and fought to the last. Such strength of will and sheer pigheadedness was a rare thing to see. I always reckoned that once she got her mind set on an opinion, shifting it was like trying to move a 10 t boulder with a plastic teaspoon.

She was the hardest to please but softhearted despite her protestations to the contrary (I lost count of the number of times she said “Have I told you lately I hate kids”). A stray cat would get a warm place for a couple of hours, butterflies were raised, and wild birds got fed and watered all while hypocrites got pilloried, politicians skewered, terrorists vilified, and the lazy given short shift.

Dear God I miss her so!

Condolences Michael. Regret I never met your wife. KG & P spoke fondly of her.

“A stray cat would get a warm place for a couple of hours, butterflies were raised, and wild birds got fed and watered …………..”
A warm heart indeed………….. echoed in this household.
My thoughts go with you Michael.
