Australia is so fucked in some ways, and many of those ways are a result of media misinformation or lying by omission.
Fancy having to read about this in an overseas publication.
It’s just the tip of a huge and rapidly growing problem, RB but anybody watching ABC “news” or reading newspapers wouldn’t have a clue.
Trying to tell people often (VERY often) just elicits a hostile reaction and hands over ears–they refuse to listen because then they’d have to face the reality of what’s being done to their country.
Or they simply don’t care, so long as it doesn’t affect them personally. We’re going to pay a terrible price for this apathy and ignorance.
Met an urban liberal women the other day who told me with utter certainty that the ABC provided the “best news service”.
I just looked at her and said nothing.
There are so many such gormless gape jawed morons its hopeless.
One wonders what she was comparing it with. If she actually had any basis for comparison, that is….

Now that Abbott is doing a good job in turning back the boatpeople scum, I’d like to see him take action against these scumbags. Given that they seem to be too much for the police to deal with, the army should be called in. Abbott could be “PM for life” if he went on TV and vowed to take any action needed to eliminate these gangs. The first action should be deportation.
Damn right, Thor. If their country of origin won’t take them, then we should buy a bleak and barren island somewhere and ship them off to that.
