Perhaps John Key is in love?

These comments from the spineless, principles-free zone posing as a N.Z.’s Prime Minister demonstrate a stunning lack of grasp of American domestic politics. It’s one thing for the money-shuffler to ooze his way into the top job by making vague non-frightening statements in order to avoid panicking the sheeple, but as somebody once said, “a man’s gotta know his limitations”.
NZ Herald:
‘Prime Minister John Key says he can understand why United States President Barack Obama won’t give in to the demands of Republicans who want to delay his healthcare law before passing the Federal budget.
Mr Key told the Herald he was disappointed that Mr Obama had had to cancel his trip to the Apec summit in Bali because of the US Government shutdown.
“At one level, he just adds a lot of fizz to the show.”
But he agreed that Mr Obama was being held to ransom and that he should not give in to renegotiate a policy he had been re-elected on.
“You can’t really give in because if he gives in, he is firstly giving in on a policy for which he campaigned, won the election and [was] re-elected.
“He’s got a point, hasn’t he, that he is being held to ransom.
“If he gives in now, what is he going to do in a month’s time when he faces it again?”…’

You have to wonder what he is smoking. Asset sales were part of National’s election platform last elections. Key got a mandate to go ahead by winning enough votes to govern …….. And now Key has announced that a (costly) referendum will be held in Nov/Dec to see if they can sell off more of the family silver. Obviously what is good enough for someone who cheated himself into the White House is not good enough for a spineless weasel.

While it’s true that NZ’s National government under John Key is holding a referendum on asset sales ( to be more precise, partial asset sales) Key has said that he will go ahead with the sale process regardless of the referendum outcome. Just like all those other non-binding referenda in NZ, this is a complete waste of money and time.
This one is being driven by the economic Luddites in the Greens and Labour so there is no way the Nats will accept the result.

      • mawm says:

Of course the Watermelons and the Socialists want a referendum – it is against their core belief that some people can have more money than others …….and be able to afford to buy shares in parastatals. But the fact remains he campaigned on asset sales (or partial anyway) and got a mandate but is still allowing a citizen initiated referendum at the taxpayers cost.

He could be in love. He’s likely just looking to further establish his bona fides re: cushy U.N non-job later.
His comment about the Tea Party reminded me of the comment in Redbaiters sidebar.

Smarmy prick has proven, to my mind, he doesn’t care a rats about the people who built and maintained that little country.
If it takes a(n unavoidable?) global crash to hit reset- bring it :!:

Key sounds as wacky as some of our Dems. They all need to be in a rubber room and in a white straight jacket.

KG…this one just calls out for Medusa’s sharp tongue! I would expect something like “The only fizz that HBSC produces is when he farts in the pool!”

I was more than a little shocked to read that quote in the Herald – John Key must know how untrue that statement is (as per your earlier post) so is playing to the gallery. The saddest thing is that at present he’s the best we’ve got.

OTOH, on the partial privatisation referendum issue, I don’t think he has a choice; as others have said the problem there is with the luddites.

Maybe Key should read this………

Just a small preview of a brilliant letter to the Won…..
My impression of you is quite different, and it has only been solidified by your performance during this shutdown/Obamacare debate. I find you to be a very small man, Mr. President. Far from larger than life, you are petty, frivolous, pathetic; sneering and pompous but also trifling and narrow. I don’t mean to dismiss or underestimate the damage you have done to this nation — it has certainly been profound and lasting — but I want you to know that your legacy will not be one of grandeur and brilliance; it will be the legacy of a shameless, desperate bully.

    • KG says:

Damn right–and that’s being too kind.

      • mawm says:

I’m sure that it’s Jarrett doing all this shit……….and of course the the Won gets rolled out every now and again for the adoring press ……. only to put his foot in it followed by the back-peddling, the face-saving, etc. Seriously can you imagine him doing anything other than watching C-SPAN all day long, practising reading a tele prompt, and occasionally learning some lines to run out at a presser?

        • KG says:

Seriously? No, I can’t. The clown is a Marxist agitator, working under expert supervision.

Really, ‘fizz’, obama. In most stuff i’ve read, most world leaders are disappointed after they actually meet the fellow, even if he is the greatest president in the history of the universe. lol

Maybe Key really is in love, mind you, if he really wanted to feel the fizz or the tingle up his legs, he could always jump on a plane and go visit the mighty warrior. I’m very sure obama will give him a photo op and waffle something about NZ being America’s greatest friend, ally, BFF and partner.

He could take juliar gillard with him too, i know she goes really weak at the knees when obama is mentioned.
