    THE Coalition has vowed to deny permanent residency to 33,000 asylum-seekers who arrived on Labor’s watch, saying promised temporary protection visas would be applied retrospectively.
    Tony Abbott announced the move today, less than 24 hours after the Senate rejected the government’s attempt to reintroduce TPVs.
    The Prime Minister said the government’s mandate could not be clearer when it came to reintroducing temporary protection visas, and Labor was giving the “two finger salute” to the Australian public by opposing them with the Greens.’

      Some new information.This has been gone over on several shooting forums and it didn’t hold water.Several ammo manufacturers came forward and said they do not use any primary Lead in their bullets and the closure would have no effect on production.Plus the plant fell victim to regs passed during the last year of the Bush admin so oddly enough Obama isn’t responsible for this one.

      However something a bit more sinister is going on behind the scenes.Stories are popping up on various news and blogs talking about the hazards of Lead exposure at gun ranges-

      Isn’t it odd that the man featured in the article as the victim only worked one day at the range,yet ended up with Lead levels 10x’s the limit? : :roll:

      Mark my words Lead will continue to be a villan and these stories will be pumped up until the EPA begins shutting down gun ranges and suing them for environmental damage and clean up.Lead Ammo will be banned,ranges and clubs will be closed and fined.The bastards are that easy to figureout :evil:

          I rack the Lead level changes up to Bush having good intentions,but lousy advisors as was the case in several decisions he made.I believe many of them can be attributed to Powell and Rove.Powell because he is a closet lefty and Rove because he sees everything as political.

          Rightnow I’m trying to trace the Smelter story back to it’s source and see who started it.Allen West and a couple other Teaparty members have been handed some bad information that later damaged their credibility.It smells of establishment Republican meddling :evil:

My great-grandfather was a Private in Company H, the 24th South Carolina Infantry, a regiment in the Brig Gen’l States Rights Gist Brigade. Gist was killed. Grandfather was in the thick of the fight at the Carter House, survived to surrender soon at Nashville, sent to Camp Chase at Columbus, Ohio, paroled in 1865 and returned to Chester County. SC.     ‘EDWARD “Babe” Heffron, whose World War II service as a member of the Army’s famed Easy Company was recounted in the book and TV miniseries Band of Brothers, has died aged 90.

    Heffron died Sunday at Kennedy Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey, said his daughter, Patricia Zavrel.

    Heffron and the rest of his “Band of Brothers” fought through some of World War II’s fiercest European battles between 1941 and 1945.

    A paratrooper in Company E, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Heffron took part in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and helped liberate the Kaufering concentration camp in Landsberg, Germany.

    He received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart…’

      What all these kids need is an early focus on reading.Research has proven that reading more than anything trains the memory,increases knowledge retention and pattern recognition.

      Several of the new Charter school districts in New Orleans have made great strides getting their inner city pupils to take up reading as a habit and the results have been spectacular.Of course the teachers unions hate Charter schools,mainly because they are effective and actually educate students as opposed to just being day care centers.

    What is needed is a very intelligent person (well read and up on current affairs) to sit beside every pundit on every news channel who has the authority to shout “STOP!!!” every time some leftist idiot says something beyond stupid (but I repeat myself).

    My point is that these idiots would not get more than one sentence out of their mouths before “STOP!!!” was enforced. They would then be required to support their pronouncement with facts, replicated studies, and common sense . The last being the most devastating to their arguments.

    Maybe then the LIV would get a bit more honest information to lift them out of the sewer of Labour/Democratic voting.

    But then again I am a well read/educated Christian and therefore must be delusional and believe in myths.

      Maybe we should be using the mechanisms set up by the left to destroy them. I laid a complaint with the Broadcasting Standards Authority :mrgreen: about the content of a Campbell Live show. It all came to nought, as expected, but if we all were to complain each time a program was either politically biased or factually incorrect then just through the sheer weight of numbers they would have to start addressing the problem.

      The left are winning because they have more ‘activists’ and the right are all losing because we just whinge on right wing blogs and don’t get off our arses to confront the evil of progressiveness. :oops:

      Medicade is easier to get if you DON’T need it than it is if you do need it.This case doesn’t suprise me at all.

      One of the well kept secrets about Obamacare is the fact that of the 30 odd million Americans without heath insurance 20 million of those aren’t even Americans.They are illegal aliens.

      When that little factoid is pointed out to one of the more frisky Obama sycophants they quickly retort with”Obamcare doesn’t cover illegals”which is true,since they don’t need it because they are already getting whatever healthcare they need for free on the taxpayer and premium payer’s dime. :evil:

      The other 10 million are either people who qualify for Medicade/medicare,but don’t know it,or the young and healthy who don’t need it.

      The reason why very few people are signing up for Obamacare isn’t just because of it being FUBAR,it’s also because the illegals have to reason or intention of paying for anything(why buy the Cow if you already get the milk for free) or people who can’t afford the premiums no matter how low they are.
