‘Fires show climate change is real: Stern
NICHOLAS Stern has cited recent bushfires in Australia along with current flooding in the United Kingdom to argue climate change is already causing devastating destruction.
The British economist, who authored the influential 2006 study on global warming, says record rainfall and storm surges causing flooding across the UK “are a clear sign we are already experiencing the impacts of climate change”…’
It’s hard to know where to begin attacking this horseshit, uncritically regurgitated by News. com as “news”. So I won’t bother.
Oh, and you’ll notice it’s not “global warming” any more…

    always find this amusing..the UK is such an irrelevant non-existent industrial economy….
    so lets see..tax all the UK citizens and do what?..close down /offset the non existent industrial “polluters”..then import all of their food and goods [which they are basically doing anyway] and get it from where? oooh.. East Europe ….Asia .
    then what ? where is the money coming from if you are living on imports?
    as we say here…it only “appears” to work until the other guy’s money runs out.

    a classic example : UK regulation of the poultry industry..regulations and regulations later; the industry is skewed to wall with crippling costs, but can’t compensate costs or barely break even because they are undermined by non-regulated cheap imports from Asia [chicken] and Eastern Europe[eggs]…
    we see this suicidal utopianism daily..wheel out yet another “never had a real job” academic who has the answer to “save” the world ..all I see is another “get your name in neon” wannabe who is out of options in covering up the fact he is worthless in a real economy.

      Same with our farmers. Saddle them with a million regulations and then let the market flood with cheap imports from Aisa where no such regulations exist.
      If people realised how their food was produced then you wouldn’t be able to GIVE the imported crap away.

    :shock: Recently learned that Harvard has been triple diagnosed tri-polar and will become a highly doctored analyzed inmate at the Harvard University Lunatic Asylum. Perhaps he will be fundamentally transformed for a change.

    Well, the global warm/cold stuff perhaps led to Harvard’s demise. All that twisting around in circles attempting to explain millions of years of global weather including eskimos to injuns. Hell, it doesn’t even make for an interesting topic. We had ice on the ground a day ago and now it is quite sunny and pleasant. I think those quick changes may have twisted Harvard up.
