Arson in an approved cause is ok then?

‘A frustrated conservationist who set fire to a lodge on an unspoilt island in the Hauraki Gulf has avoided a jail term, partly due to his service protecting the environment…
Judge Ema Aitken is the liberal robed clown in this case. Some people might say she’s likely yet another widdle girl lawyer who has been made judge by virtue of her membership of the Vagina Mafia.  But we wouldn’t suggest that.

UPDATE: There’s more to this story, which the NZ Herald conveniently left out. (thanks to Mawm for the tip)

Eco-terrorists. Cops should just shoot on sight, like any other kind of terrorist, including industrial / economic terrorists.

  2. Michael in Nelson says:

A conservationist he is not! He is an arsonist and the judge should be bitch-slapped up alongside the head!

    • KG says:

Damn right. How long before some poor bastard dies because a “conservationist” decides to set a structure alight with someone inside it? Will the “judge” have something to say then?

      • Michael in Nelson says:

What gets me KG is how many ‘Conservationists’ don’t want people anywhere near the protected area. Just how in the hell are the efforts to be evaluated as working or failing if people don’t go in and check? The truth is they hate people and would gladly sacrifice 2/3 of the human race to preserve their precious Gaia.

        • KG says:

True, Michael. And too many of them also (DOC is a case in point) regard the areas as their own private playground. We saw a hell of a lot of that in the Far North.

It’s funny how the Herald article failed to mention this –

The 66-year-old resident of Great Barrier Island in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf was appointed caretaker of nearby Kaikoura Island by the Motu Kaikoura Trust. He did the job for several years before the trust opted not to renew his contract in July 2012.
