Pigeons, meet cat….

‘Most scientists will tell you that race has no biological basis—it is, in academic-speak, a “social construct.” But a new book by distinguished journalist Nicholas Wade challenges that assumption, concluding that race is real and human social behaviour is subject to natural selection just like everything else.
As the New York Review of Books put it, in its coverage of Wade’s A Troublesome Inheritance: Genes, Race and Human History, there is now a “statistical sense” in which races are real. Scientists can tell, based on genetic variance, which continent a DNA sample comes from. That might not sound revolutionary to you, but it’s only recently that we’ve had the computer processing power to do it….’
UPDATE: Fred Reed has a good take on this.

Good stuff! Good on Wade and his research!

If a visitor from another planet arrived here it would be obvious almost immediately that there are different races and that they adapted along different paths.

Academia is mostly on another planet–maybe the inhabitants should visit Earth occasionally.
But we all know academia-speak has stuff all to do with truth and everything to do with ideology.

I recommend another excellent book on the topic, “The Bell Curve- intelligence and class structure in American life.” Richard J Hernstein. 1994
When that was published, the scream was loudly heard across the land ……. YOU CAN’T SAY THAT !!!!!  He could and he did. Good man.

The leftist PC crowd is not, never has been and never will be about “facts”.
They deal in power via emotions.

Here is some recent evidence to confirm:

Detroit – Forty-seven percent of adults are functionally illiterate, which is about the same rate as the Central African Republic, which at least has the excuse that it was ruled throughout the Seventies by a cannibal emperor.
      Mark Steyn at nationalreview.com

Detroit – has the distinction of registering the worst NAEP scores on record. Their math scores are so dismal that Michael Casserly, executive director of the Council on Great City Schools, concluded they “are barely above what one would expect simply by chance, as if the kids simply guessed at the answers.” It is almost pure noise, something which might well have been the result of a random-number generator. There’s nobody home.
