Charlie Teo and the cyclists:

‘SPEEDING cyclists are “f…kers” who should take their Lycra and pack mentality and stop using Centennial Park as a velodrome, world-renowned neurosurgeon Charlie Teo says.
Dr Teo — who has used the park daily since he was a Sydney schoolboy — warned there would be some serious injuries if cyclists didn’t slow down.
“Those f…kers — if they want to wear Lycra and go at high speed then they should go to a velodrome,” Dr Teo said yesterday on behalf of the Share the Park campaign.
“When the cyclists go faster than you and get annoyed when a pedestrian dares to get in their way or a mother is pushing a pram — that’s not what the park is there for…’        source

Assholes. They do the same in Sydney and other Oz cities. And the spineless cops often leave them to it.

@KG: Thank you for posting an article on my pet peeve in Seattle – bicycle riders who infest our sidewalks all over the city.

This is because our commie mayor rides his bike to and from city hall, even in the pouring rain, which is pretty par for the course in Seattle.

Yes, bicycles are allowed by law on the sidewalks and the wise walker always checks first to see if there’s a fast bicycle going between him and the store he is about to enter.

Last year in front of the Target superstore on Pike Street, I was knocked down by a cute young female bicycle driver who said, “Sorry, sir. I didn’t see you!” (I’m a large man) If the bike driver had been a man, I very likely would have clocked him – IT HURT :!: Also, the poor babe had a knot on her pretty little head from the sidewalk she hit after the sudden stop caused by my body. (Those bike helmet are useless)

I was not seriously hurt – just a few cuts that didn’t need the E.R. However, a friend of mine wasn’t so lucky, he got nailed by a fast mover down by the waterfront on a very crowded sidewalk. He did end up in the E.R. and surgery because his nose had been totaled by a crazy bike driver going very fast, who, when he saw the accident about to happen, lowered his helmet so that he hit my friend square in the face head-on :!:

The police were called, as well as the paramedics, and when they determined the bike driver wasn’t drinking or on drugs, they released him without asking for his I.D. :!:

Clearly, the bike guy should have been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, as witnesses observed him going at a high rate of speed (some of these bicycles can go over 30 MPH!) in an area full of walking people unaware of bicycles.

“An accident waiting to happen,” said one witness.

Anyhow, my friend was forced to have several operations to repair the damage to his nose and was out of pocket thousands of dollars, as the surgery was deemed “elective” by his insurance company.

BICYCLES BELONG IN THE STREET AND ON THE ROADS, OR IN SPECIAL CONSTRUCTED BIKE LANES THAT SEPARATES THE BIKES FROM THE PEDS :!:

      Damn right they do.
One answer is to carry thumbtacks–a pocketful–and sow them wherever these antisocial bastards are threatening pedestrians. Sure, they’ll cause some minor inconvenience to others, but if enough people do it bike riders will be forced off the footpaths.

Tacks are now on my Monday shopping list. I had a bit of fun today while waiting for a bus at a new stop for me. I could see quite a long way up the pavement and spot oncoming cyclists. So I would stand in the centre of the narrow pavement with my back to the riders. Believe me, I got some right fruity language, which I returned in kind, of course. Made my day.

Good on yer, Andy. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif A couple of handfuls of thumbtacks would have fixed the bastards featured in Darin’s video clip above. Beats me why people don’t do it.

Strong words those from the Doctor. Maybe the penny will finally drop on a lot of morons who think that us car drivers are just being mean to the cyclists.

So the cyclists are being clocked going over the posted speed limit, oh my godless gaia in the f****ing middle earth, why aren’t there speed cameras being erected, the police commissioner shouting at a press conference about how speed kills, thiiiiiiiinkkkkkkk of the chiiiiilllldren!

If any of us tried that shit on the freeway, we’ll be chased down quick smart. Seems those lycra clad f***ers are exempt from all this, why, why, do tell us car haters!

    • Darin says:

I figure if they want to share the road with motor vehicles then they need to pay taxes and insurance like motor vehicles. Why should the rest of the people on the road pay taxes for it’s construction and up keep but not them?

More fun today at the bus stop, actually managed to not move until the fluorescent fucker went onto the road. He asked me what my problem was, I just asked him what his problem is with roads. You wouldn’t believe the language from what is probably a vegetarian. CNUTS, the lot of ’em. Don’t get me on joggers.

    • KG says:

It’s a weird mindset, Andy. So many of them behave as though they’re full of steroids.
Maybe they are, or maybe they’ve absorbed the “cycling as a morally superior activity” meme promoted by greenies and assorted idiots.
I’m fine with cyclists who do their thing and don’t hold up traffic or force drivers to take evasive action.
      As for the others…….

      • Darin says:

I see two types here.Folks who genuinely use the bike for basic transportation,it’s what they have to get from A-B and they generally obey the traffic laws and yield the right of way.I have no problem with these people and do my best to get over in case they fall as I am passing them.

Then we have the Lance Armstrong wannabes and the critical massholes, they are rude, arrogant arseholes of the worst order. To them all I can say is they had better yield the right of way.
