Francis W. Porretto:

“Declarations Of War”
‘..The war has been declared. The battle lines are sharp and bright. No American can call himself a noncombatant; no American can be confident that he’s off the battlefield. And there’s absolutely nowhere to flee.
Will we surrender meekly, or will we stand and fight?’

Typically-brilliant post from Mr Porretto. Here’s my take on the snippet you posted, KG:

“No American can call himself a noncombatant”
Actually, the Administration views every American as a (potential) Enemy Combatant.

“No American can be confident that he’s off the battlefield”.
Every American is on the battlefield, whether they like it or not. If they’re not fighting for the cause of liberty, they’re aiding and abetting the enemy.

“And there’s absolutely nowhere to flee.”
I think patriot enclaves will start spouting up, where genuine Americans can coalesce together and woe betide any agent of the Administration who tries to get in. The problem with that, of course, is that it makes them susceptible to air attack.

“Will we surrender meekly, or will we stand and fight?’
For far too many, that question has already been answered.

The Obama Regime’s military build-up over the past 6 or so years is no less frightening, no less obvious and no less a portend of their intention, than was Germany’s in the ’30s. Obama told America who is is, what he is and what he intended, most starkly with his “domestic military police force” comments. Tyrants only ever have one destination; tyranny. And anyone who doesn’t yet believe that is exactly where Obama is heading, is either an agent of the Regime, a polyanna or utterly, mind-bogglingly stupid.

This afternoon I was watching the HBO series “Rome” which is about the series of Roman civil wars leading up to destruction of the Republic by Caesar Augustus and the beginning of the Roman Empire.

We seem to be repeating that era in America.

You folks are aware that the American Republic was modeled on the Roman Republic and our Founding Fathers read every word in the Roman constitution and thought their rewrite would prevent America from following Rome into tyranny?

    I guess not.

We are entering the time of the civil wars and the only upside I see is that those responsible for the destruction of the Republic will very likely not be alive to see the dawn of the Empire.

The American Caesar Augustus is not Barack H. Obama.

The big question still is whether there will be a spark sufficient to ignite a civil war, Ronbo.
      I have my doubts.
If what has already happened so far hasn’t done it, then it’s difficult to imagine what would.

The most difficult fight will be against the big government bureaucracy. Even newly created ones blow out budgets to give themselves fancy headquarters, engage in harassment, mismanagement and abuse of authority even when their remit is to protect.

    • KG says:

Yep. I’ve been banging this drum for years. The worst of our enemies are the bureaucrats, and the hardest to rein in.

      • Ronbo says:

        @KG:

I’ve always said that economic collapse would be the ignition system for insurrection.

However, if that doesn’t happen – and the government benefits keep flowing – the chances are better than even there will be no rebellion.

Revolution comes from the belly – when the British closed the port of Boston and ruined the economy they made rebellion almost inevitable…Ditto for the Czar in 1917 when the Imperial regime could no longer feed the cities.

          @KG:

But relax, fellow freedom fighter, there will soon be civil war in America because I think the Obama Regime plans to tank the economy sometime in the next couple of years, as a quick and dirty way of destroying American capitalism and making it impossible (they think) for the American People to rise in rebellion.

In fact, what they will do is make it possible for ruthless rebels such as myself to come out of the shadows :!: If you’re a Progressive you really, REALLY don’t want to meet up with a tough out bird like me with an assault rifle in his hands at midnight. What are you going to do? Call the cops? Give me an argument on constitutional rights? Beg for mercy? When the phones don’t work and the cops have gone home because no one is paying them? Welcome to the Brave New World of Anarchy you have created, Leftards :!: No quarter will be asked and none will be given. The Black Flag.

What about DHS? 250000 well equipped and armed storm troopers :!: Like the man said, they better take along plenty of body bags for THEMSELVES.

When you create Hell on earth, you can expect the demons to poke you in the butt with bayonets.

Backup? We don’t need no stinkin’ backup!

No apology needed? This wasn’t in the bastards testimony either. Wouldn’t you think it would be of material interest to the Committee?

    • KG says:

It’s simply open lawlessness now, Michael. Their attitude is “what you gonna do about it, punk?”

      • The Gantt Guy says:

That supercilious twat, Commissioner Cnut, should have been held in contempt of congress for the look on his face alone! And what’s the bet Paul Ryan, his family, friends and grandmother’s cat are all ‘randomly’ selected for audit in the next 12 months?
