Ground Zero Cross: Court presses atheist group to explain why artifact is ‘offensive’
A federal appeals court said Thursday an atheist group trying to keep the so-called Ground Zero Cross out of the National September 11 Memorial Museum must better explain how displaying the artifact is “offensive” and violates members’ constitutional rights.
..The other question is — if the plaintiffs indeed feel displaying the cross “marginalizes them as American citizens” — then how is that a “particular and concrete injury” compared to just “the abstract stigmatization of atheists generally.”
The judge has also asked the plaintiffs to substantiate their claim the museum and Sept. 11 memorial are getting taxpayer dollars.
“Taking personal offense is not an injury that warrants invoking the power of the courts to shut down everything you disagree with,” Baxter also said. “The Constitution is not a personal tool for censoring everyone’s beliefs but your own.”….’   (bold mine)

These atheist groups are some of the biggest malcontents out there. Most are just homosexuals who don’t like biblical moral codes.

    • KG says:

Aye, U.R. I know atheists who are perfectly content to live and let live.
The bastards in this item are not those.
And has anybody heard of them objecting to mosque minarets? Because I haven’t.

  2. Michael in Nelson says:

I recently saw an item where atheists wanted a chaplain for the army. How ridiculous is that? http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

    • Neoconderson says:

I say if it’ll get them to stop persecuting Christian chaplains, then let ’em! Same thing with Greece, N.Y. – put an atheist in the pre-town-council meeting prayer rotation. If they want to rail against God for 30 seconds, let ’em. Then say “whatever” (atheist version of “amen”) and begin the meeting.

The irony is lost on them that atheism is just another belief system invented by man’s feeble mind.

Rep. Stockman should brace himself for audit in 3…2…1…

      • KG says:

        Yeah, exactly. Criminal bastards.
How long since a senior IRS official was audited?

        • Darin says:

Most folks when asked would love to see the IRS abolished. It could be possible to do so with a republican majority and enough public pressure.

One very good side effect of doing so would be that it would eliminate a large chunk of lobbying influence and a good deal of congress’s influence peddling.

Milton Friedman told us why tax reform would never happen in this country back in 1978,he’s was 100% correct in his assertion.

I personally believe that an Article V amendment is needed limiting federal revenue at no more than %15 of GDP.It would force congress to live within means and reduce the foot print of the federal government to a much smaller size by simply starving agencies to extinction.
