and give Microshit and AppleĀ operating systems the flick. Apple has become as intrusive and contemptuous of user privacy as Microsoft.
Mint is free, fast, reliable and has almost endless add-ons available, very many of them free.

I will give it a try when I get my laptop going. My Mac had been getting progressively slower, to the point of uselessness and the problem turned out to be Safari. I eventually got Chrome installed and the machine has never run so well (just a shame it’s a Google product)
I’m using Firefox on the Mac, Os, and it seems ok.
Great minds think alike, KG – that’s what *I’m* running!
Yep, it’s *great*. Free, really easy install, easy to use, robust – it’s got everything going for it.
It sure has, Tranquil.
Apple have been aggressively promoting “cloud” storage and their app store, yet both have been hacked! Why would anybody trust them?
Being a Linux fan myself – actually running Kubuntu – I strongly advise against the “Mint” flavour of Linux. It may be excellent software, but the founder and chairman of the “Mint” distribution, Clement Lefebre, is a outspoken supporter of the terrorist organization, Hamas. He doesn’t want any money or help coming from Istrael or people who support the action of their current government.…

Well, although not jewish I guess that statement includes me and all other linuxers who regard Istrael as a bulwark against Islam.
I see your point, Voldposten, and thank you for the information.
I too unreservedly support Israel, but it’s rapidly becoming a matter of who we choose to be screwed over by in the software business. Apple has turned out to be no better than Microsoft – it seems their greed and arrogance know no bounds too.
And we’re all donating to Hamas whether we like it or not, since we’re forced to pay money to the U.N. via our taxes.
This is why I stick with a clean version of Windblows,it’s crappy, but it’s consistently crappy. It’s stable and I know what to expect.I even have Chrome running and behaving on it nicely.
