Rebel grower Tony Galati has waged a 20-year battle against the state’s Potato Marketing Corporation — the only regulator of its kind left in Australia — and has been fined in the past for exceeding his planting limit…’

    He also runs a few stores called the “Spud Shed”. The Jandakot store is a 24 hr one that sells fruit and veg at fantastic prices along with al the other supermarket stuff, liquor etc.
    The other growers hate him because he is selfmade through hard work and he saw opportunities, got off his arse and went for it. Obviously a massive threat to the cozy comfortable status quo.
    But the real story is the socalled right wing premier (Barnett) told potato growers that change would be coming, but not in this term of government. This gutless leftist in drag told the potato growers this at a by-election that his party needed to win.

    That old adage “Those who can, do, those who can’t become teachers” should be altered to “Those who can, do; those who can’t enter politics and regulate”

        On this very blog I have referred to WA as the Peoples’ Republic on numerous occasions. It is a socialist hell-hole. The Western Suburbs of Perth are awash with chardonnay liberals/progressives/parasites/and holier-than-thous!

        Where we live the world is a tad different to the coastal strip around Perth. Rules and regulatrions exist but are only a suggestion to many people.
        For example at the local tip scavenging is common place, so much so that the tip is colloquially known as Mitre Eleven.
        A friend from NSW nearly shit himself when he saw the asbestos dump area. It is a separate hole with a sign pointing to it. No hi-viz clipboard toting warriors here.

        Cad you are correct that peoples problems travel with them and we are no exception. The difference between the socialist states of NZ, Vic or WA in terms of leftist retards is nil. At least here in the desert of WA we do not have the depressing grey damp and cold weather to contend with. The personal freedoms are an added and unexpected bonus.

          Bill,when I was much younger that was a weekly routine,going to the dump with grandpa.

          We generally brought home almost as much as we took.Once we landed a nearly new color TV with a broken leg,we got it and a wooden shipping skid.Asked grandpa what the skid was for he said “new legs for the TV” :mrgreen:
