A Remus quote:

‘During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. trained 16+ million soldiers & airmen, produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks,257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.
We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, dominated the Nazi’s in Europe, island hopped & fought across the Pacific, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered both Japan and Germany.
It’s worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn’t build a functioning web site.’

Fantastic! These statistics are breath-taking. All of these feats were effected promptly without interference form Health and Safety Hitlers and trades unions. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

…..during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn’t build a functioning web site.

Yeah, but they don’t have the Brits, Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis and South Africans doing the grunt work up front, not to mention the Poles, Free French and a few others.

    • mawm says:

Apologies Cad – I didn’t see your second post.

      • Cadwallader says:

That’s OK we’re on the same wave length. The Manhattan Project while based and funded in the US was definitely an international exercise with physicists drawn form many countries…Leo Szillard, Teller, Fermi, to name but three.

  3. KG says:

Fair enough comments, but it doesn’t alter the fact that America produced a massive – incredible – amount of equipment and munitions within an almost unbelievably short time frame. Add to that the necessity for training, research, design and tooling and it looks even more impressive.

    • Ronbo says:

Hint: The government removed all restrictions from capitalism for the war effort and gave out generous contracts to private firms like Ford Motors which produced fleets of trucks and other necessary equipment.

      • Darin says:

We fought the war on both fronts and supplied every allied army and navy with war material including the Russians. We also kept supplying our allies and our former enemies after the war during the rebuilding.

The point most often missed by our detractors is-it wasn’t our war to fight. We were not a member of the Commonwealth and wanted nothing to do with our batshit crazy European relatives who hadn’t managed to go more than 20 years without an armed conflict.America was founded and built by people who were sick of being ruled over and conscripted by a bunch of inbred monarchs.Beyond business we wanted nothing to do with any of it.

        • Cadwallader says:

The war with Japan was primarily USA’s to fight. OK they did some of the bidding to rid SE Asia from Japan on behalf of the French/Dutch and British Empires, but the initial response was triggered by a full front assault on Pearl Harbour. O/T Did Churchill have an inkling the Pearl Harbour attack was imminent?

        • mawm says:

It had nothing to do with an obligation by the Commonwealth to fight an evil that was ripping through Europe. These were men who stood up to that evil. The Americans stood on the sidelines for long enough before entering the fray and then only after a huge amount of effort by Churchill to get you in. In the mean time you did manufacture ships, etc for the Allies but bankrupted Britain with your help – all their gold, all their copyrights, etc.

Anyway we are all grateful that you came in and singlehandedly won the war for us.

          • Darin says:

“Anyway we are all grateful that you came in and singlehandedly won the war for us.”

Never said we did, just making the point it wasn’t all “Monty” either.

            • mawm says:

Sure it wasn’t but sometimes I get the feeling that Americans seem to think they did it all. The Brits and their allies put in a huge effort on so many fronts with not much in the way of resources and many of our relatives died defending freedom while the Americans hesitated. Don’t worry Darin we still love you guys. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_rose.gif

I feel a racist comment coming on herehttp://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_unsure.gif… America, to my knowledge, was run by and for white people in those days.

The sort of people Darin mentioned who would build their own welding gears etc. Imagine a tenth of that collective [shudders, but not- as a different homogenous time] attitude being used to sort the current problem. Just as the old Rome fell and the new one is only propped up with counterfeit cash, those same people must endure.

I sometimes wonder what future history teachers will tell the (white) kids about the current times…

p.s. Saw a neat quote about democracy at a US alt-right site (attributed to the French) “Democracy will be seen/laughed at as the foolhardy system where you elect people to represent you, then pay people to oppose them” :???: :?: ~

    • Ronbo says:

The founding fathers of America hated democracy and called it “mobocracy.”

In particular, they were shocked by the mobocracy (democracy) of ancient Athens where the most insane actions were taken like the invasion of Sicily and the execution of the greatest philosopher of the ancient world, Socrates, which was done by majority vote.

This is the reason they founded a republic that checkmated the mob gone wild and the power hungry wealthy classes by means of checks and balance in the U.S. Constitution.

Yes, I know today our republic has fallen to a Leftist oligarchy, but while our constitution was obeyed for over 200 years it worked well.

  5. Pascal says:

It’s worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn’t build a functioning web site.’

Hell, that’s nothing. In more than triple that time, two administrations and eight congresses could not build a simple fence along the southern border. We’re not even talking wall there.

What is the real message here? That neither a secure border nor an actually workable healthcare system is the intentions of those running Washington DC.

For those who choose to remain skeptical of this conclusion, please look up Cloward–Piven strategy.

Back already? Is that insufficient to open your eyes Mr Skeptic? Then you have lost any claim to plausible deniability you effin’ Leftist tool.
