Vanuatu:

‘..The U.N. said it was preparing to deploy emergency rapid response units.’
Which should arrive as soon as they’ve arranged three-star accommodation, a dozen Michelin-starred chefs and negotiated their tax-free allowances….

A rapid response which will criticise Australia and New Zealand for not giving enough…

Half the men from these Village’s are in Hawke’s Bay under the RSE work program.
Their hard earned money will (sadly) be needed.
Send them Food, Timber, Iron and Cement.

Train the army to build infrastucture

Would gain us more influence and goodwill with our neighbours than spying on them.
Would also be cheaper and more effective than giving money to the corrupt UN

Can’t remember the blokes name, but he was a former counciller in Hamilton with a trades background who wanted help the darks after the Boxing Day tsunami. He wrote a book detailing how corrupt the U.N and various charities were.

It sure would. And use some of those people on the dole as labourers.

      • Wombat says:

A common notion, but I’ve worked on such projects and you lose more time trying to make those shiftless pricks move their ass than you gain in labour.

Typically they “injure” themselves constantly. In other instances where an impromptu coffee break is required, expensive hardware and tools will mysteriously be misplaced or broken.

Best of all, you’ll find them keenly aware of their rights, and they have plenty of bleeding-heart wankers on speed-dial down at the welfare office who will drag you over the coals if you hurt their precious feelings.

Just remove the dole and punish the ensuing criminality with an iron fist. There’s no other way of dealing with career laziness.

You bet ya although I’m not sold on the idea of compulsory military service for the simple fact that I don’t like the idea serving next to a bloke who doesn’t want to be there, something like what Israel/Switzerland has would be good though

A million man/woman army sounds about right with a beefed up medical/dental corp for those who don’t wanna carry guns (would need to purchase a few million AK -47s which after 4 years service would be given to the demobilized soldier to keep)

Although the Chi-Comms are not yet ready/capable of invading us yet they will be in the future and the ANZUS treaty won’t be worth the paper it’s written on. The yanks would not be able/willing to save us if the Pacific fleet got swacked in a nuclear first stike on Hawaii. We would be on our own. Even with a million trigger pullers I don’t know if that would be enough, maybe???

“Even with a million trigger pullers I don’t know if that would be enough, maybe???”
It would be enough, given the will and a basic level of training.

Such a conflict would be ugly, and it would outlive our natural lives.

It was said that we cannot know what weapons will be used in world war 3, but subsequent conflicts would be fought with spears.

Useless blimmin’ UN, always looking for an excuse to get in the way. Vanuatu should tell them to get lost.

  5. Wombat says:

Never fear. The guild of the blue helmet will soon be there to sell the relief supplies to the highest bidder and rape everything under the age of 16. They might just throw in the importation of some exotic diseases if the locals are lucky.

After all, kidnapping girls and pimping them out is really just a jobs program, right?

  6. MvL says:

The UN and its fellow warmie travelers lost no time to pile on the hyperbole about this cyclone.
    Global warming, you know.
