    I think this whole flag episode is a prime time for the Republicans to reiterate that it was the Democrats who fought against freeing the slaves, and that the Democrats were intricately intertwined with the KKK:

    They should also mention that it’s great the southern states are all Republican voters now, who believe in equal rights for all regardless of colour, and maybe throw in a quick mention of the little rock nine as well. That’ll fuck the left – the last thing the Democrats should be doing is mentioning the confederate flag.

    I just watched the ISIS video where they drown men in a cage etc…. and wonder what they will think of next to recruit members of the religion of peace to their noble, peaceful cause. The sadism is quite extraordinary.     So a rabid dog kills 9 people in Charleston and in Columbia we are told to take down a flag. This flag is placed next to a monument to South Carolina’s Confederate soldiers. This replica flag and other similar ones have pissed off some people for 150 years. It seems that “folks” would get over it one day.
