Settled science

THE CHAOS THEORY
In Chaos Theory, the “butterfly effect” is the name given to the sensitive connection between initial conditions in which an insignificant event in one state in non-linear systems, can result in sometimes catastrophic events in the universal state.
In other words, although unlikely, it is possible for a butterfly flapping its wings in Texas to cause a typhoon in the Japanese Sea.

Case in point, in mid-20th Century America, a loose 18-year-old hippie female in a Honolulu college had sex with an older, alcoholic Kenyan man on a student visa, who had a wife and child back in Africa. And this less than significant event started the collapse and dissolution of the United States of America.

Actually, Obama et al arose from the progressive education theories which started in the 50s. This (and the Kennedy assassination) begat the 60s new left radicals who took over the schools and the media in the late 80s and early 90s. Without an academic basis for socialist indoctrination and control of the media a far left junior senator who was also black would not have had a chance in hell at the nomination, let alone a two term domination of the government. The depressing thing about this is that the education system and media has only gotten worse since then. What that will bring in the next 20 years can only be imagined.

    Exactly!

The science may be ‘settled’ but the data may well be falsified…

I remember the one time I was asked if I could change my data and I was so stunned/appalled/angry I could barely tell the questioner “Don’t go there!” but then integrity is important to me.
