  2. Rush Limbaugh is on the radio even as I type these lines, and his theory as to why the Director of the FBI gave Hillary a pass on the email was because he’s afraid of being cursed for all time like Ken Starr by the Leftist Media Machine.

    I would suggest there may be a more personal reason…The Clintons are alleged to have filled many graves with “suicides” who pissed them off at some point in their decades long criminal career – so the man who stopped the Hildabeast from becoming president would get a big target on his back.

    Like the Godfather said in the famous movie by the same name, “History has taught us one thing: that anyone can be killed.”

      Of course, “soon” could be in another 1,000 years, so the decade long drop in global temperature could be the start of a “mini-Ice Age” that we have had several of in the last 1,000 years.

    • Looks like the plane came in too hot. Before the cable snapped, one seaman can be seen running towards the plane before the line snapped (suggesting to him at least that the plane had gone farther forward than other planes). The same man turned around after the snap as if he expected he’d be needed there more. If my surmise is incorrect, I’d love to hear others with experience in such situations explain to me how I’m all wet.

      • The arresting gear below decks was giving trouble.In the article they refer to it as an “engine”,but it’s really a piston that gets dragged through a cylinder of oil that applies braking load.The amount of load it applies and the duration is controlled by IIRC the recovery control crew,basically they have to change the control setting for each of the various types of aircraft they recover,different landing speeds,weights etc.Could have been mechanical failure,or could have been the 19 year old at the controls screwed up.

        The guy who turned around was probably running to the aid of the crewmen on deck that just got taken out by the cable whipping across deck.Those were the 8 sailors who were injured.

        When my father served on the Independence he witnessed an arrestor cable break.The cable whipped across the deck,killed one crewman outright and left two more with career ending injuries.It’s hard to tell in the videos,but those cables are 1-3/8″diameter,or about the thicknees of a house door and store many tons of energy when in use.

        Here is a video of a cable breaking and the resulting whip,a good example of why flight deck operations are among the most dangerous jobs in the services.
