Only had time to read half of it just now,but so far I see two points-One this isn’t the first time in history that the population has gone from rural to urban.It’s happened at least twice just in the short history of the US. And two- I suspect that “urban warfare” will return to what it always has been-siege warfare,ring the city and starve the people out.

I understand Obama is telling the Japs that America is sorry we started WW II by cutting off Japan’s oil – and “So sorry, please” we shot down 29 Jap planes and sank that submarine on December 7, 1941.

There doesn’t seem to be anything too despicable for this POtuS to shy away from as long as it damages or insults the USA in some way.
I was talking about this recently with a good friend that is a Vietnam Vet.He’s of the same mind as Zumwalt,fairly pragmatic.It’s an extension of the policy that Bush was pursuing towards the end of strengthening ties with Vietnam in a hedge against China both militarily and economically.IF Vietnam continues on it’s path to modernization and reform odds are Trump will continue the same policies,with the exception of the TPP.
I wouldn’t be surprised if America re-occupies some of our old bases in Vietnam -“The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” – as is well known, the Vietnamese have China on the no.1 position on their hate list.
