Neil Gorsuch nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court – The Left plans to “Bork” him – Also known as the “Third Degree” that the cops used to give suspected criminals. 60 votes – a super majority – is needed to confirm his appointment by the Senate, which is bullshit – what’s wrong with a simple majority?http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_scratch.gif

    • Darin says:

I believe it will be a simple majority once Trump goes for the nuclear option.

I also find it interesting that Gorsuch has argued in favor of term limits for Supreme court justices, that to me hints at his character.

      • KG says:

        He did??? Brilliant!

        • Ronbo says:

All federal judges should be term limited to a maximum of 12 years (two six year terms and stand for election) – and that’s it. No more federal benches for them. There are plenty of state courts who need experienced jurists.

Why two terms? The president of the United States by law is limited to two terms. The tradition started with George Washington, but was perverted by FDR who served over 13 years when he died in office, and so it became necessary to forbid “President For Life” by constitutional amendment.

I say what’s good enough for General George Washington is good enough for all federal officials – and also what Washington did after serving two terms – he retired to his plantation at Mt. Vernon – and did not comment on politics for the rest of his life.

I think after Obama shoots his big fat mouth off every day about politics for years, another constitutional amendment will be necessary to silence the big mouths after their terms in office.

“Sir, you are no longer president. Now shut the fuck up!”

This is a great tradition: The citizen gives the Republic the best years of his life – and then quietly retires from the scene – like the citizen/soldier who fights in the war and then return to family/friends/and business.

          Duty, Honor, Country, heh?

How Engines Work-See through engine in slow motion-Smarter Everyday http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

    https://youtu.be/xflY5uS-nnw

What’s a Gas Engine Made Of?
    They started with some iron
And heated it to a glow,
Then poured it in a mold
    A long time ago.
    An engine block and flywheels
    And various castings,
    emerged from that old foundry,
But they were not the last things.

A skilled machinist next plied his trade
With steady experienced hands, he got everything made.
    He turned the crankshaft
    And cuts the gears,
    And machined the parts
To make it run for years.

    There’s piston and valves
    And bolts and springs,
    It’s iron so true
If you strike it she rings.
“What’s a gas engine made of” you say?
It’s ingenuity and blood and sweat all the way.

    Such a simple machine
    Built so long ago,
    In an age of missiles
What a joy to see em go.
    They came in all sizes
    And were satisfactory,
To run a farm or power a factory.

    There were many colors
    To please the eye,
    But this did not determine
    The one to buy.
    You bought it to do
    The grinding or pumping,
    Or many other jobs that
    Always kept em jumping.

They were made to do Just about any task.
So when someone again may ask,
What’s a gas engine made of?
It’s even more than I’ve stated above.

    Yes, it’s iron and babbit
    And porcelain and wood,
Since 1872 they came like a flood.
    From little back shops
    Or large corporation,
    These iron monsters came
    To cover the nation.

And so they were made of all things fine,
Yes built well enough to last till our time.
So when they are taken from farm or town,
And restored as original it only comes down,
To just a shot of gas and a little bit of oil,
A few turns of the crank, and she’s ready to toil.

    • KG says:

Damn right they’re good questions, and I’ve never seen a lefty answer even one of them convincingly.
The hard fact is, islam is a useful bludgeon with which to beat conservatives and ordinary common-sense people and the left isn’t going to give up a tool that’s so useful to them. (useful thanks to uninformed fools who let themselves be bullied by statist thugs).

  7. KG says:

 Good God!! Goebbels was a rank amateur compared to the assholes at News.com. Read it and then pick your jaw up off the ground:

They actually include the Iran nuclear deal in those “triumphs”!
    and
“I worry about authoritarianism,” said Chait. “I see little evidence Trump has any popular basis for his policies.”
    Oh, really?
    From Breitbart:
‘Poll: Public Overwhelmingly Supports Trump Push to Limit Migration’
The man is simply a liar. And the NZ Herald is happy to parrot his lies.

Did someone hold a gun to their editorial heads?

So what if it does? Who voted for “international Law” and how much say do we the people have in how this beast is formed, financed and administered?
    None.
Therefore the UN “human rights experts” can take their precious so-called law and jam it up their collective backsides.

    ‘WHY BOTHER WITH ELECTIONS?
Judges know best. They are more knowledgeable and caring than politicians. They are also more knowledgeable and caring than the voters who elect those politicians.
We know this because the state’s leading judge, Tom Bathurst, says so.
In a speech to the Opening of Law Term dinner, Chief Justice Bathurst declared it was the judiciary and not the government who can be relied upon to promote fairness and equality. Left to our own devices, and without the soothing touch of all-wise judges, Australians would apparently descend into rampant racism…’
