Jeesh — Reading the headline and early parts, you might think Tommy’s ordeal is over.

It says his case was referred to the AG, left to that officer’s prerogative whether or not to persecute Tommy further.

    • KG says:

Under the Brit system, Pascal, kicking it upstairs to the AG is to kick it squarely into the political realm, not the legal.
Looks like a very smart move, since the politicians will have to wear responsibility for any further action rather than wash their hands of it and blame the courts.

      • Pascal says:

Thanks KG. That’s a bit of which I missed. Thanks and, for Tommy’s sake, I hope they don’t double-down. Lately the ruling class all over appears to act like “bugger-off, we’re in control. Wadaya think you can do about it?”

        • KG says:

Well, I’m an Aussie, Pascal so it’s not my problem. (thank the Lord for that).
I don’t see that the Brits – like a few other European nations – have much of an alternative to violent insurrection. The ballot box is now all but meaningless.

          • Pascal says:

The SSM has stoked my fears that the ballot box is meaningless here too. Certainly if the prediction that there is an 85% chance for the Dem[on]s to retake the House is truthful. And then, of course, there’s the systemic voter fraud in California that may have been exported to other states. God forbid!

Asking that one simple question could have big implications.

              • Pascal says:

Looks like a sound ruling even though a free society should always have some access to otherwise unaccountable bureaucrats.

Of course illegal aliens ought to be worried — but the question was not about having a green card, but simply about citizenship. So when the opponents of this question state that worry in an effort to evade the voting rights act defense answer given, the logical conclusion is they are all in favor of watering down the legitimate representation of citizens and legal residents by inflating the
numbers where illegal aliens reside — mostly in blue enclaves.

You are absolutely correct Darin. The blue cities will lose representation if the illegal alien is at least somewhat deterred from answering the census.

“The ballot box is now all but meaningless.”

The so called party of the right (“Conservatives”) are now so far to the left that someone like Harold Wilson would have difficulty opposing them. Anyone further to the right (ie in favour of old fashioned morality and standards) is now at least “alt-right” or “nazi” in the view of all the MSM and much else as well. Most still take their opinions from the MSM, rather than thinking for themselves. I cannot see how any thinking person could disagree with you KG.
