Remembering September 11, 2001. That event is unforgiven. My son enlisted in the Marine Corp at 18 fresh out of high school in 2004. I asked him why? He said to go kill Osama. (Or is it Obama). He served his four years and two tours to Anbar Province, Iraq. His first kill was a young punk who threw a bomb of some description into my son’s squad. It was a dud. But in this brief encounter my boy returned fire killing the punk with two shots to the heart. Good shooting! He later killed another also. Shithole country as Trump said. My son finished his enlistment in 2008. He was very sick with war fever. In October 2009 he ate his .410 shotgun. I died that day consumed with black hate. I cussed God, my son, myself, you, my steering wheel whatever. And soon I got a hard knock on the right side of my head with a flash and he said, “Dad I’m sorry.” I knew he was in a better place.
