    Demonstration Alert: U.S. Consulate General Auckland (November 12, 2021)

    Location: Nationwide throughout New Zealand

    Event: Large-scale protests are expected to take place on 13 November 2021 beginning at 11:00. The organizers have termed this event, “The Great Gridlock.” Protesters plan on assembling in motorcades of unknown size and slowly going along major roads and/or highways throughout the country with the intent of creating as much disruption as possible to traffic.

    U.S. government personnel are advised to take precautions in planning movements tomorrow, deferring travel where possible and considering alternate routes when not possible.

    Actions to Take:
    Avoid the area of the protests.
    Monitor local media for updates.
    Avoid crowds.
    Avoid demonstrations.

    I checked the NZ Herald this morning but I couldn’t find a word about any demonstration much less nation-wide. What gives?
