The bad news is that I forgot that NY’s court system is screwy non-standard. The “Supreme” Court is below the highest court, The Court of Appeals. Naturally, the Progressive movement (with its countefeit use of words) started in that convoluted state.

There are some bar charts on reading, writing and numeracy that show how badly the system has failed the lower decide schools.
NZ grades schools between 1 and 10 according to socio-economic levels and the lower decile schools get more funding. NCEA is a system that essentially awards points for the most trivial endeavours and students need to garner enough points to get their NCEA rating; things like hip-hop!
