Justice Scalia on the DOMA decision.

In a blistering rebuke of the Supreme Court decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, Justice Antonin Scalia said the self-governing power of the people has been eroded.
“Some will rejoice in today’s decision, and some will despair at it; that is the nature of a controversy that matters so much to so many,” Scalia concluded. “But the Court has cheated both sides, robbing the winners of an honest victory, and the losers of the peace that comes from a fair defeat. We owed both of them better. I dissent.”
and:
It is an assertion of judicial supremacy over the people’s Representatives in Congress and the Executive. It envisions a Supreme Court standing (or rather enthroned) at the apex of government, empowered to decide all constitutional questions, always and everywhere “primary” in its role.”

Does anybody have a link to the full text of his opinion? I don’t have time to find it.

I was expecting the court to find the state legislatures defining marriage as between one man and one woman unconstitutional – thus legalizing this abomination across the entire country. Bader-Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor & Kagan are left-wing political hacks, so it would only have taken Kennedy to swing fully in favour of homosexual marriage for that to happen. Kennedy has history, he was on side with the decision in 2003 in Lawrence vs Texas that decreed that sodomy between two men is a constitutional right.

This URL is for the SCOTUS and the link is the decision in full, Robert’s dissenting and Scalia’s rant (which is well down the page).

Nothing new here…If the Socialists can’t get what they want by Congress or Executive Order they get the Supreme Court to do What The Ruling Class (TRC) Wills.

…and clearly TRC deems God, patriotism, The rule of law, traditional marriage, the family, capitalism and the U.S. Constitution as illegal.

Increasingly The Will of The American People has come to mean nothing…Less than 5% of the population of the USA – the oligarchy of the psychopath left – TRC – meeting in a number of Star Chambers – now determine the course sailed by the American Ship of State.

I do not think the United States of America is a free country any longer – In fact, it has become the number one threat to the peace of world – as TRC could decide tomorrow to do anything – crash the world economy, launch WW III, or throw 30 million American patriots into concentration camps. ANYTHING :!:

I have become a man without a country, but I never left the United States, the United States left me – and whatever it means – I declare personal war on the U.S. Federal Government :!:

  5. Our Congress people became lazy and PC- so – instead of doing their jobs- they turned controversial legislation over to the SC–in order to win elections —
the SC–which was supposed to be the LEAST POWERFUL branch -as set up by the Founders–now it is the most powerful–
    Need I say more- !?!!

You think the subject of the post is bad? Take a look at Francis Porretto’s latest post “Racism with a side of Semtex”

    Mark Steyn:
“Actually, this is a very worrying precedent, because effectively, I mean, I don’t like that the fetish-ization of judges,” he continued. “I don’t want an absolute monarchy where you replace the king with nine robed judges and you pretend somehow are any more objective than just having you know, an absolute monarch. But if you’re going to have an absolute monarchy, it’s particularly unhealthy to have an absolute monarchy that doesn’t even address arguments but simply says, ‘We declare disagreement with us unacceptable and biased and bigoted’ because they can do that not just with gay marriage. They could do it with the JFK Airport parking lot expansion bill. They could do that with every single thing that comes up on their panel.”
