Julia Gillard has deceived journalists – and you. On Monday the Prime Minister suggested her changes to boat people laws meant freeing detained children now being held behind razor wire:

“I don’t think it’s the Australian way to, you know, have kids behind razor wire in the hope that that may be a deterrent.”
But the next day her secretary for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Andrew Metcalfe, revealed the truth: no child had been held behind razor wire in years. In fact,
No children have been held in a detention centre since June 2005.

‘The nephews of Hone Harawira, who attacked the Prime Minister at Waitangi last year, are back in the spotlight.
This time, the Popata brothers have taken over a small Northland sailing club in the small seaside community of Taipa to protest new legislation.
They are occupying the Taipa Sailing Club in protest of the current Marine and Coastal Bill.
While residents told ONE News that they are fearful of the occupation turning violent, the brothers say their protest is peaceful.
“We don’t feel this is a radical occupation kind of thing, we just feel we’re coming back to live on our whenua,” Wikaatana Popata said.
And they say Ngati Kahu and their uncle are supportive of their protest.
“I know he’s been busy down at parliament, but his wife has been here and, yes, we have full support,” Wikaatana said.
Act leader Rodney Hide warned that such protests were going to increase.’

If maori want to preserve a language spoken by .000000000000000000000001% of the world’s population, then how about they take responsibility for that themselves?  Nowhere in the Treaty of Waitangi–that they’re so fond of invoking when it suits them–is there any mention of the Crown’s responsibility to preserve their language. There are plenty of maori organizations which have grown fat off the backs of taxpayers….what are they doing to preserve their precious bloody language?  And why the hell should my tax dollars–which already fund a vast population of racist bludgers, leeches and lowlifes be further raided for this wankfest?

First, it means your Prime Minister fooled you.
Did she tell you before the election she’d build two more detention centres on the mainland, ship in 3200 boat people now on Christmas Island, and free hundreds into the community before checking their claims?
But that’s not all. Gillard’s announcement on Monday also means she’s got no idea how to stop the boats – 106 this year so far – and is now making things up as she goes along…’
