‘The Europeanization of America’

‘….Take for example what happened yesterday to Florida pastor Terry Jones, who went to trial and was even jailed briefly because he wanted to hold a protest outside a mosque in a suburb of Detroit. Not only was he denied his First Amendment rights by a Dearborn jury, but as part of the court decision against him yesterday, Rev. Jones was prohibited for three years from setting foot on the property of the mosque or adjacent areas.

Mr. Jones has never broken the law. He has never been violent nor threatened violence. However, because what he says makes other people threaten to kill him, his right to free speech — as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution — has been denied. And because violent idiots may confront him if he exercises his right to free speech, he has been denied his Constitutional right to peaceably assemble.
…….So, in a way, our situation is worse, because the highest law in the land — the United States Constitution — forbids the states and the federal government from doing exactly what was done yesterday to Terry Jones.
His case may make its way all the way to the Supreme Court, but I wouldn’t count on five justices upholding his right to speak freely. One of the justices is, after all, on record as saying that he’s not certain the First Amendment protects Koran-burning. Since the Constitution means whatever five Supreme Court justices say it means, we are at most a single Obama appointment away from the formal encoding of sharia in the Constitution….’

‘The Woodpile Report’

is up, and Remus hits one out of the park. A taste:
‘So, an executive who says what he wants and does what he wants announces tight surveillance of the internet and outright confiscation—oops, redistribution—of HAM radio frequencies. And no, this isn’t a report from some 1930s European dictatorship. A regime which grants itself unlimited funds will also grant itself unlimited powers, no surprise there. What’s surprising is how this blatant illegitimacy goes unchallenged decade after decade. There’s no mystery why each outrage tops the one before. We the People aren’t merely “letting them get away with it,” bad enough, we knowingly endorse this farce by going to the polls every two years.
Remus says the conscientious and patriotic citizen will not contribute to an appearance of legitimacy by participating in their—formerly our—national elections. While we’re not at the point of direct action, and hopefully we never will be, inaction is long overdue. The citizen has no obligation beyond doing what he must do by law. As in any abusive relationship, disengagement is the first step. Voting is a shell of legitimacy protecting the deep fraud within. The outcome will be the same if we vote or not, in fact, voting would be declared an act of terrorism if it changed the outcome. So yes, we are past the point of fixing this with civic involvement. When Remus first said all this it was taken as a zany notion. How things have changed. Read on….’     (bold mine kg)

This is just sick:

‘ASYLUM seekers who sign up for art classes and play sport while in detention in WA are earning “reward points”, which they can cash in for luxuries such as automated nose-hair trimmers, cigarettes and chocolate.
The luxuries are costing taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars a year.
Detainees in Australia, including those in WA, are entitled to claim battery-operated grooming gadgets, cigarettes, phone cards, snacks and confectionery by using reward points earned while playing soccer, volleyball and table tennis, and attending English and art lessons….’    source
UPDATE: ‘Greens call for higher refugee intake as protests continue’

Hardworking Aussies, many of them struggling to pay high power bills and put food on the table, are paying for this obscenity. And when will the effing media finally start calling these people what they really are–illegal immigrants. “asylum seekers” my ass.

NZ politicians–wannabe totalitarians:

From TrueblueNZ:
‘A reader (in today’s General Debate) has drawn my attention to a NZPA article in today’s Dominion wherein Ken Ring appears to make a serious allegation against National government Minister Nick Smith and John Key advisor Peter Gluckman….’

Read the item–according to these arrogant, dishonest bastards they have the power to prevent a private citizen from predicting earthquakes!

Have at it.  Everything from recipes to assassination plots. And here’s a snippet which illustrates very well what infects the West:
“‘Although historically this country is part of the Christian West, and although it has an established church which is Christian, there have been enormous changes in the social and religious life of our country over the past century. Our society is now pluralistic and largely secular.
‘We sit as secular judges serving a multicultural community of many faiths . . . The laws and usages of the realm do not include Christianity, in whatever form. The aphorism that “Christianity is part of the common law of England” is mere rhetoric.’

Of fake Aborigines and fascist show trials:

Questioning credentials of an Aboriginal elite
Keith Windschuttle
IF you get your news only from the Fairfax press, you would have missed one of the most damaging scandals yet to have rocked Aboriginal affairs.
The story received front-page treatment in News Limited newspapers, especially The Australian, when it broke on April 14, and for the following five days. Several television and online forums canvassed its consequences. But Fairfax editors regarded it as such a threat to their world view they imposed a nationwide ban on the story. Not a word about it appeared in the pages of The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review or The Sun-Herald.
The incident began after the chairwoman of the Northern Territory’s Indigenous Affairs Advisory Council, Bess Nungarrayi Price, appearing on ABC1’s Q&A, spoke favourably about the Howard government’s 2007 intervention into Territory communities. In response, Aboriginal academic Larissa Behrendt sent a Twitter message to ABC radio presenter Rhianna Patrick, saying: “I watched a show where a guy had sex with a horse and I’m sure it was less offensive than Bess Price.”
……..Behrendt’s tweets, which have revealed her distaste for Aborigines with different political views, may well generate a revival of sentiments I recorded in Quadrant last year when discussing author Sally Morgan’s claim to Aboriginal identity. Activist Jackie Huggins had said that, even though people might have some Aboriginal ancestors, they could not be genuine Aborigines if they had been brought up in white suburbs without any engagement with an Aboriginal community.
For saying much the same thing, it should be remembered, Andrew Bolt went on trial last month under the Racial Hatred Act. Hence, whatever the outcome of the Bolt trial, Behrendt’s Twitter outburst has ensured there will be more people in the future prepared to make the same point about the members of the Aboriginal political class who are enjoying a life as privileged as hers.”

Easter chaos as thousands of passengers stranded
Jetstar is working to get 2000 stranded passengers on their way after a security lapse at Sydney Airport caused a disastrous shutdown.
A power failure caused a security screening checkpoint in the T2 terminal to malfunction at 3.15pm yesterday, leading to 16 passengers walking through without being screened.
Sydney Airport ordered the re-screening of the entire terminal, including many of those already on board aircraft waiting to take off….’

Wabbit knows a bit about security and the process of screening passengers is an effing joke. Some simple commonsense–such as waving 80 year-old grannies through-would help. But more than that, as long as luggage is loaded on to aircraft without rigorous screening then all other security measures are useless.  Airport “security” has become an expensive feast for petty bureaucrats and a massive burden on travellers.

Britain has become an utterly disgusting little island

‘A man has been jailed for 70 days today after he burnt a copy of the Koran just over a month after a Muslim got away with a paltry £50 fine for a similar offence.
Andrew Ryan, 32, stole a copy of the holy book from Carlisle Library then set it on fire by a monument in the city of Carlisle.
Last month Emdadur Choudhury was fined after he burned a poppy outside the Royal Albert Hall in London on Remembrance Day while shouting ‘British soldiers burn in hell’.
As he was led down to the cells, Ryan shouted at the judge at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today: ‘What about burning poppies?’….’    the rest–if you can bear to read it.
